Myrddin is a mage with an important destiny. When Myrddin finds Cora (Terpsichore) bathing in the spring, he is infatuated. However, he is currently on a journey to save his betrothed, Gwendolyn, to whom he has a great loyalty. He does not understand how Cora is tempting him from Gwendolyn when no other has been able to complete that task.

Cora and Myrddin travel together to save Gwendolyn. Once inside the kidnapper’s home, they find out from Gwendolyn that she was not kidnapped, but had run away to be with Madog after her father denied her the right to marry him instead of Myrddin. Myrddin is surprised to find that he is not heart broken by the loss of Gwendolyn; instead, he is relieved.

Once they leave Madog’s home, Cora senses imminent danger to Myrddin. Can she keep him safe from danger? Never could she have imagined that she would be in love with a mortal and pleading with fate to let him live.

“Dancing With Fate” is a simple love story, made very intriguing with magical characters. Hywela Lyn wrote a beautiful and touching story of undying love and characters that are prepared to give everything, even their souls, for the other’s life. Myrddin and Terpsichore were both very strong characters, each willing to give their all to what they believed in. For me, Greek mythology can be a bit hard to read. I do not know much about it, so it can be hard to follow. However, Ms. Lyn did such a fantastic job of describing each character that I never knew I could enjoy Greek myths quite so much. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, filled with vivid landscapes, Greek myths, and some of the strongest characters I have read in a while.
