Detective Samantha Colby’s sole focus is her career, and her job is basically the only thing she's good at. So, when she lands the high profile murder case of a celebrity television judge, she’s determined to solve the crime quickly. Not only to stop a killer, but it might just earn her that promotion she’s worked so hard for.

Medical Examiner Dexter Hawkins is a Harley riding, smooth-talking, bad boy. One look at him raises all sorts of red flags for Samantha. Long ago, she learned all she needed to know about his type, but it took a painful divorce to drive the lesson home.

Even though she knows better, Samantha finds herself growing more attracted to Dex each day. She soon learns that summoning the willpower to stay away from him might prove as difficult as catching a killer.

I really enjoyed reading this exciting story full of love and suspense. There were many twists and turns along the way. The author did a great job or peppering the story with red herrings, and at giving many different angles as to who the killer might be. But sometimes it did get hard to follow just who was who. This did not detract from my enjoyment of the book, however. This book was full of mystery and suspense. It kept me turning pages, anxiously waiting to see what would happen next.

The author described the scenes and people so clearly, I could actually picture it as if it were a movie I was watching. Sam really does hate Dexter when she meets him. He seemed to be utterly insensitive and far too smooth. As the story progresses you can really tell what he is like and made of deep inside. He is nothing like Sam’s ex. You come to find out he is an actual hero any woman could fall in love with.

If you are looking for an exciting, eventful and a growing love story, this is the book for you.
