A wolf is being drawn by voices on the wind to a place he's never been or seen, miles from his home. At the same time, wildlife artist Alexi Morgan is working on a painting of a wolf running through the snow, seemingly drawing on snippets from her dreams. The further along in her painting she gets, the closer the wolf gets to Alexi. By the time she's finished, the painting has taken on a life of it's own. Can this really be a time when art really imitates life?

Rarely do I find so much enjoyment in such a short story. Spirit of the Wolf is only six pages long but it packs a whole lot of intrigue, heart and magic into those few pages! I loved this story!

Alexi is an artist. Drawn to a small town she meets Jake, a Native American who takes a special interest in her and her work. He tells her she is drawing his wolf brother close, and when she begins working on a wolf drawing Alexi thinks Jake may be right. The lure of the unknown, faith in the unseen and attraction that crosses typical boundaries, coupled with a perfect sense of timing and effortless storytelling makes this story come to life. Vivid details, interesting characters and an artistic flair give this the depth it deserves.

Ms. Acone’s Spirit of the Wolf is a delight!
