She’s a real wild cat…in and out of bed.

Wild Things, Book 2

Alexandra’s brother has changed since his mate’s death, but she’s certain he’s no cattle killer. When she gets the chance to track down the real culprit, she jumps at the opportunity to clear the suspicions hovering over his head. And maybe ease her own grief.

Connor would do anything for Alex—even be her mate if she would only ask. Instead he settles for coming with her, ready to protect her from the rogue as well as human hunters. When another tracker shows up accusing them of the crime, though, there’s no stopping Alex’s instant attraction to the lone werewolf.

Dirk is on the same mission, but for a different reason: His pack owes one of the ranchers a favor. Once he finds Alex examining the latest bovine victim, though, he shifts his goals to include her mile-long legs wrapped around his waist. If only he can get past her interfering friend.

Trigger-happy hunters send them all into hiding, where huddling for warmth turns hotter than expected. The heat burns away any pretense that this is a sexual romp. It’s a destined love that a killer could destroy…unless Alex makes a heartbreaking choice.

Beverly Rae has written a taut and engrossing suspense story, filled with passion and more than a little action.

Family is important. Bryer is all that Alexandra has left in the world for family. When the pride believes that Alexandra’s brother is endangering them all with indiscriminate slaughter of cattle, Alex is the only one that believes Bryer is innocent of these crimes.

Determined to get to the truth, Alex and her best friend Conner set out to find him and also to uncover the rogue cat that is attacking cattle. Yes, Bryer changed after his mate was shot and killed by hunters, but Alex is sure her brother wouldn’t do this.

Conner has been in love with Alex for years, but she sees him as just a friend. When they cross paths with a lone wolf who is also tracking the rogue, Alex discovers feelings she never knew possible. Dirk Claxton is attracted to Alex, and wants her in a forever kind of way. Toronto was awarded an expansion team called the Blue Jays, but San Francisco baseball fans’ worries about generic cialis cipla losing their beloved Giants had not completely gone away just yet. Tracking the rogue, running from hunters, and trying to fight the attraction gets to be more than they can handle.

But can they uncover the rogue and prove Alex’s brother is innocent? Can they find a life together, when both the pride and the pack object to their mating? Can they stop the rogue once and for all?

There are many great twists and surprises in this story, and plenty of heat between the characters. As always with Ms. Rae’s work, the characters are well defined and multifaceted, and the world is a wonderful mixture of realism and fantasy.

Alexandra knows in her heart that her brother is innocent. She is a strong woman, determined and independent. She feels alone, even while searching with her best friend, and it was great that she clung to the hope of innocence about her brother when all around doubted. I loved the way she went all out, both with her faith, and later, with her passion for the two men with her. She is a caring and compassionate character, and wants the best for all of them.

Conner is sweet, caring, and totally devoted to Alex. But he is smart enough to realize that he will never have her heart the way he wants it, and concedes that point with grace and dignity. Handsome and sexy, he is determined to move on once he sees the truth of Alex’s feelings.

Dirk Claxton is a lone wolf, and at first he is just out to find the rogue to help some friends. But he is smart, handsome and sexy, and I loved the interaction between Dirk and Alex and Conner. Dirk is the strong, silent type, but he is just what Alex needs at this terrible time.

This is a fast paced, suspenseful story, with twists, secrets and hot ménage action. This one gave me some laughter, and lots of tears before the end, but it was worth the experience. Do they find the rogue? Do they have their happy ever after? You’ll have to read this one to find out.
