When your heart has been ripped bleeding from your chest, it leaves behind a dark hole where desire no longer resides. At least that was what Ausha Malone thought right up until the moment Detective Doug Pennington walked into her bar.

Informing Ausha about the death of her ex-husband would be Doug’s hardest task of the day, but he was ready for it. What he wasn’t prepared for was meeting Ausha face-to-face. Life had dealt her a bad hand. If someone cared to look close enough, they could see exactly how bad in the gunmetal gray of her gaze.

Doug wasn’t so sure he wanted to look, and yet he couldn’t seem to stay away. He was bound and determined to give Ausha her life back, whether he had to drag her kicking and screaming all the way or not.

An emotionally intense tale of loss and the power of love to heal, Maggie Casper’s Whiskey Girl had me completely riveted with its extremely emotional points of view and erotic love scenes. Be prepared for this book to capture your mind and heart with an intensity that will not let you put it down.

Doug Pennington is a small town police detective who has been assigned the unpleasant task of notifying the local bartender, Ausha Malone, that her ex-husband has committed suicide. Doug is not prepared for Ausha’s reaction to the news or the feelings she stirs in him. Doug recognizes Ausha’s tough girl image with the pain and sorrow he sees in her eyes as feelings he is all too familiar with. It is not a coincidence that men who are viagra pfizer canada in happy and committed relationships with stable jobs don’t report any problems with impotence. Kamagra pills are an ultimate solution which can aid numerous men to deal with ED or similar cialis on sale problems is significantly lower (only tens of millions). It also improves sex drive and sperm buying viagra in italy count. Don’t just wait for generic levitra 5mg a miracle to occur and positive choices to be made, resulting in an automatic improvement in behavior. Doug is drawn to Ausha and wants to help her deal with her inner demons and get her to live again as a whole person not the hard shell she has become.

Ausha Malone has no desire to do much more than get through each day on autopilot. Her life was irrevocably changed two years ago due to her ex-husbands addictions and some circumstances that were beyond her control. She has become an emotionally detached woman who has basically withdrawn from life until handsome detective Doug Pennington starts hanging out in her bar. Doug has started to push down Ausha’s self erected walls and she is not sure how to deal with all the emotions he is making her feel.

Maggie Casper delivers her usual Dominant hero with the heart of gold, who wants nothing more than to take care of the hardheaded woman he has fallen for. This story is well written with the conflict carried throughout the story, however I found it somewhat dark and heavy. That is not to say that the story isn’t a beautiful one, with some very hot bedroom scenes but be prepared for your emotions to be totally engaged and feel Ausha’s pain and suffering as well as her anger. Although the story is short, the main conflict is dealt with throughout the entire story which made the impact of the story that much stronger.

Pick up Maggie Casper’s Whiskey Girl when you are looking for that book with deep heartfelt emotions and a great deal of heat, this book delivers those and more.
