Lisa loves her job in the male-dominated beer sales industry and has built a reputation as one of the best. But she dreads the “ride along” days when beer companies sends their least experienced representatives to see how she operates—until her one bad day turns into something more with The Rookie.

Undercover for his own brewery, Trent has heard of Lisa’s prestigious sales prominence and sets out to see for himself—to show Lisa what he is capable of—in business and pleasure. Their attraction leads them to an amazing encounter in the most unlikely place, but will Lisa accept Trent’s true identity once it’s revealed? Or will she finally surrender and reach out for the unexpected?

If a reader is short on time and craves a quick bang of romance then jump right into this story about when a girl meets a boy and beer.

No, they don’t get drunk on the beer, but I think they do get drunk on the explosive lust that has a career and ambitious woman tied up in knots. I think that’s what I enjoyed most about this book. The author made it very clear that Lisa is a go-getter. She’s no nonsense and demands as much of herself as those around her and that includes her lovers. She’s a powerful woman which pretty much scares most men off after a short time. Poor Lisa. And yet, when the rookie, hence the name of the book, walks in he totally and completely discombobulates the woman and I thought it hysterically funny. I enjoyed how the author had Lisa giving herself pep talks and admonitions about how she was acting around, Trent, but she couldn’t seem to stop herself. Although jailbreak developers viagra on line soon thwarted the restriction, we will never know. Good thing too or I wouldn’t have been treated to some well written scorching scenes.

Trent is a mystery man. The tale is told from Lisa’s point of view so I didn’t know exactly what Trent thought about Lisa until that fateful moment when they are surrounded by beer. Oh my!

Although I thought that Lisa’s capitulation to the object of her desire was a bit fast, sometimes hormones obliterate good sense and the body’s needs rule. But that’s not the end of it. Also in The Rookie, Lisa finds out something very shocking about Trent and as far as I’m concerned it made him the most perfect man for her. I got the distinct impression that Trent is the man who will bring Lisa to heel in very delicious ways and the ending is a strong hopefully ever after, with spice.

I had a very fun time reading The Rookie and I’d love to see another installment, this time having Trent luring Lisa into a permanent relationship. I thought the characters worked well together, the author did a good job of keeping my interest and keeping me entertained. It’s a great little short that’s perfect for a quick and naughty time-out from the day’s stresses. Of course, it might leave a reader with stress of a different sort, but that could be fun, right?
