The Green Bay Packers and Perseverance

After savoring the wonderful Super Bowl win by my favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, I realized it didn’t come easy. After all, the Packers had fifteen players on injured reserve, including six important starters, and they had suffered a crippling loss to the lowly Detroit Lions in December where they couldn’t score any more than three points. It would have been easy to give up. Yet they won the Super Bowl! No won expected it, least of all me. Yet they persevered with the talent they had on board and with good coaching and personnel choices, they became confident they could win.

You could throw them out a window and they’d keep coming back! Something important for writers and anyone in any walk of life to remember. 1. That was a pretty good game. They both played well.

But…I don’t think I could handle being thrown out a window. LOL.

  3. A timely reminder about perseverance, but please, I don’t need to be thrown out of a window to get the message!

  4. And thank goodness the Pack has shed some more of the Brett Favre shadow! The team needed a superbowl victory in more ways than one…

  5. Great post, Allison, and I so agree (even though I’m not a football fan). I appreciate the comparison with writing. 🙂

  6. So true, I had to laugh when I read that about being thrown out of the window. Not literally, of course, but when you read about what people in the entertainment field go through; how they’ve finally succeeded after so many rejections, it’s amazing and a true credit to the human spirit. Didn’t Jack London have 200 rejections?

  7. That was a great post, so true about perserverance.

  11. Too true Allison! I would have been happy with either team for the Superbowl, but just getting to that level shows how important perseverance is.
