I like how Alex was written with the naiveté of what a male/male relationship was like. His innocence helped make this budding relationship more believable when it came to his acceptance of the parameters of the relationship. So of course he would agree to whatever Kieran wanted to keep him in his life.
The best part about this story was all the dialogue between the characters. Definitely gave that extra zing to help carry this story along. I got to know more about the characters’ personalitys from their conversations with one another and it made these fictional characters come to life.
This was a very entertaining book to read. Pairing up a virgin with an overly experienced partner is a love story just waiting to happen. The love scenes between Kieran and Alex were taken slow at first but towards the end they down right steamed up the pages. A captivating read from beginning to end. I would completely recommend The Closer You Get to any readers who like their stories filled with doubt, hard-headed men, and the hope that love conquers all in the end.
