When Storm Wishfall is sent on an errand for his alpha, he doesn’t expect to discover two young Asian men hiding on a boat in fear for their lives. He definitely isn’t expecting one of them to be his mate.

After encountering the young men’s captors, the alpha devises a plan to rescue the three other men who were kidnapped along with his mate, Kyoshi, and Kyoshi’s cousin, Keata, and the pack must band together to curtail a human trafficking ring before any more innocent lives are ruined.

In the meantime, Kyoshi must come to terms with his new life. Storm searches for a way to convince the cynical human they’re destined to love each other, but something lurking deep inside Kyoshi is forcing its way out. Are these two as different as they believe, or can they find a way to share their lives?

Ms. Hagen has written another extraordinary edition to her Brac Pack series with Stormy Eyes. She dives right into human trafficking and what it has done to two young Japanese men. In the process of telling this story she also plants seeds for future stories for other members of this pack and the neighboring pack as well.

Kyoshi has been taken from the only home he has ever known with his younger cousin in tow and shipped to America. They were kidnapped to be sold into prostitution. From there these two young men’s lives take a turn for the better. They escape from the clutches of their abductors and windup in the safety of the Brac Pack, where Kyoshi discovers he is the mate to Storm.

Kyoshi is an extremely cautious character. He takes his responsibilities of caring for his younger cousin to heart and doesn’t want to see any harm come his way. Kyoshi reminded me of an overprotective mom but as you read you learn Keata is all the family he has and he has always looked out for his cousin. Storm, or Stormy Eyes as the mates like to call him, wasn’t expecting to find his mate and reading about these two sparring back in fourth was hilarious. Storm is six foot seven with a five foot two mate. Kyoshi may be small but has the temper of a giant. The dialogue between them was well written and very funny; almost like a couple that has been married for years. Kyoshi has no fear when it comes to Storm, only love.

As in all the stories so far, the alpha’s mate Cecil seems to find time to get them all into trouble. I have to admit that is always very humorous to read. When all the mates get together, trouble is bound to follow.

The story definitely had its serious moments too. The Brac Pack take on the smugglers and that has an interesting outcome. Plus we find something out about Kyoshi that will surprise all readers

If you’re a fellow fan of Ms. Hagen’s Brac series, Stormy Eyes is a must read. She touches on some serious issues and introduces new aspects into this series that is only making it grow and get better with every addition.
