And even more stunned to meet Damien Moreno and discover the explosive sexual chemistry between them.

She needs him and The Sentinels to find out who’s after her, but what happens when she discovers his true nature? Can she ever turn her back on the powerful attraction between them and the off-the-charts sex?

HOT MALE SHIFTER ALERT!!

Before I get to the hotness, let me tell you a bit about Silent Hunters. This is book six in Desiree Holt’s collection of short stories about eight shape shifters who tragically lost their entire pack. Together they have formed a protection and investigation agency called The Sentinels. As a group they work collectively to protect, but individually they are searching for their mates; the one person to make them whole and complete and ensure the continuation of the pack. Silent Hunters is about Damien and Lauren’s explosive meeting. They may have been thrown together by violence, but within each other they find completeness.

Personally I can’t do justice to Ms. Holt’s description of Damien Moreno. Her description of him just jumps off the page and, trust me, you hope he lands right in your bed.

“Everything about him was dark, like a forbidden temptation. His hair was almost a midnight black, thick and falling just to the collar of his T-shirt. His square jaw was shadowed with end-of-the-day stubble, his cheekbones high slashes that emphasized midnight black eyes fringed with thick lashes. Sculpted muscles rippled beneath a black T-shirt and formfitting black jeans. A tiny gold hoop gleamed at one ear. For the first time in her life she had a desire to rip off her clothes and throw herself at a man.”

Okay, all together now…sigh.

I know I know the story isn’t all about Damien. Though with the author’s writing skills I bet she could pull it off. But I digress; there is a heroine. Lauren Rhodes is a spunky heiress who isn’t about to let kidnappers ruin her life. She is a take charge, tough as nails woman and she knows more than one way to bring a man to his knees. Beaten and bruised, Lauren doesn’t cower and stands tall against her enemies. She is the perfect other half of Damien’s lonely heart.

There’s a whole lot of action is this tiny package! Silent Hunters is a fast paced, hold on tight ride. Ms. Holt doesn’t mess around and dives head first right into the situation. She writes thrilling and heartfelt love scenes that make you weep with joy and green with envy. Her alpha men are top notch and always aim to please. Her heroines are quick witted and amazing women. Although the British vernacular took some getting used to and there was an injury that seemed to have a minor continuity problem, both issues seemed insignificant and easy to overlook. Silent Hunter is a first-rate addition to The Sentinels.
