Veterinarian Adrian Le Roy knows something is strange when he finds cowboy Cody Marshal sleeping off an apparent bender in the middle of the dirt road leading to Adrian’s new practice out west. For one thing, Cody is scratched and bruised and he’s completely naked. When he runs off into the woods Adrian can’t shake the feeling he’s walked into some kind of primal dream.
Twice a month Cody wakes up somewhere bare-assed, lacking even his favourite pair of boots. As far as he’s concerned, being a wolf shifter sucks. Even worse is his desire for Adrian, his gentle new employer who has no idea the beast he risks inviting into his bed.
City boy Adrian LeRoy has traded in his busy life for that of the serene surroundings of the country. Not to uncommon for most people to move from one town to the next, but for Adrian it’s a complete lifestyle change, and he is doing it for reasons he can’t quiet explain to himself. Little did Adrian know that his new home came with a live in handy man. A man Adrian can’t see to stop thinking about.
Cody Marshal is a young man who has lived a difficult life and never truly felt he belonged anywhere. He was abandoned by his parents, abused by his uncle, and to top it off, he’s a werewolf shifter. It’s heartbreaking to see these two men craving the same things out of life and love, but to afraid to give the relationship between them a chance.
The sexual tension the author built between these characters was amazing. Cody and Adrian both try to fight the undeniable attraction they feel towards one another, but in the end they succumb to their needs, and it’s explosive.
Shifter Cowboy is a beautiful love story, and Jan Irving has written characters you will fall in love with. If you’re looking for a fast pace read, that will keep you turning the pages, I completely recommend reading Shifter Cowboy.
