Shelton is falling hard for his best friend and roommate, finding Nevil’s dark good looks and moments of gentleness almost impossible to resist. But Nevil is more interested in affairs of the body than the heart. As Shelton’s desire for the man grows, he wonders if he can change Nevil’s mind. But does he even want to? Nevil might not stay, once he learns Shelton’s secret, and then his loneliness would be complete.

What socks are you wearing today?

Sounds like an innocuous question, right? For Nevil and Shelton, it’s very important. Nevil tabs his lovers by a sock color. He’s got lots of socks in LOTS of colors. Now before I make him sound devilish, Nevil’s a good guy, he just likes to sow his oats. Shelton, his trusty roommate, wants to be the recipient of those oats, but he doesn’t want to screw up a good thing.

Ms. Hartsock writes a quick paced tale. She’s got a way with words that drew me in right away. I felt like I knew Nevil and Shelton and got emotionally involved in the story. You don’t have to worry buy viagra canada about anything because there is definitely a solution for every single problem. I wanted to know what would happen next.

As much as I liked the quickness, I wanted it to slow down a tick. I wanted to really get into Shelton’s head to see why he did some of the things he did. I wanted a little more background on Nevil, too. I realize this is a short story and things have to fit within certain parameters, but I’d love to have known at least a little about their lives before and after.

My favorite part of the story was no doubt the one scene I can’t talk about much. I can’t give a spoiler. But, there is a tenderness, a true heartstring tugging moment that made me want to hug the both of them nice and tight. Yeah, I sighed, too.

If you want a book that’s got lots of heat and heart, you need to read Shelton in Love. Four cherries, indeed.

  1. Thank you, Tiger Lily, for the nice review! I’m glad you liked my men. So do I, and am planning several more stories involving them. Oh, I think I know the scene you referred to. Made me feel the same way! I had to give them a happy ending. 🙂
