Setting the Stage for a New Series

I am currently working on a paranormal romance/urban fantasy series based in and around my hometown of Flint, Michigan.

I have completed the first book and am working on book 2. Book 1 is tentatively titled Hex and the Single Witch.

Here’s a Basic Description of Hex and the Single Witch:

Anwyn Rose is descended from a long line of powerful witches yet she can barely cast the most basic spells that young witchlings in grade school have mastered. Anwyn does have one gift though, the power of knowing, which she uses to help solve crimes as a Detective on Flint’s Preternatural Investigation Team (dubbed the P.I.T. Crew).

Since the closing of many area auto factories, Vehicle City’s human residents have left the city by the thousands making it the perfect new haunt for supernaturals of all sorts, especially the vampires- who now run the city. Something else big and bad has its eye on Flint too but no one seems to know what or why. Currently the P.I.T. Crew and the supernatural Guardians are all a little preoccupied with the sky rocketing preternatural crime rates and a serial killer with fangs who is draining women in the city.

Anwyn and her sexy partner Detective Mike Malone are doing their best to find the killer but Anwyn’s powers seem to be on the fritz just when she needs them most- because she discovers her vampire love interest, Galen, has ties to the victims and if she doesn’t prove he’s innocent he’ll be executed.

But distractions keep Anwyn from focusing on the case. Family issues and crazy spells keep her disoriented while the mysterious spells keep putting her and partner, Detective Malone, in compromising situations which lead Anwyn to being a witch in the middle of a steamy love triangle.

Hex and the Single Witch is currently in limbo as far as publishing while I work on book 2 and decide exactly what I am going to do with the series.

But my current release, Paranormal Pleasures Ten Tales of Supernatural Seduction, contains a few stories and characters that are linked in with this series set in Flint, particularly the story “Renata” which is set in Flushing. I would say Flushing is Flint’s richer, prettier neighbor. The vampire Renata has ties to Markus, who happens to be Detective Mike Malone’s uncle. I can’t divulge much more than that or I would give away plot twists in both “Renata” and Hex and the Single Witch but I expect Renata, Tony and Markus (all from the story Renata) to make appearances in this new series.
“The Questioning Concubine” and “Witching You a Merry Christmas” are also set in the same world as Hex and the Single Witch.
So you can at least get a little taste of some of the characters and scenarios of my upcoming series by reading the shorts in Paranormal Pleasures Ten Tales of Supernatural Seduction.

  5. I really like reading parnormal and urban fantasy (fairly new to me) stories so I’ll keeping your series on my reading radar. I come across a lot of vampires but not many dealing with witches so it’ll be something different.

  6. Sounds like you’ve been busy! Your books sound great! Can’t wait to read them!
