Grady Hobart is working the skeleton shift at the Traffic Town Truck Stop when three gorgeous spring breakers saunter in to use the restroom. A fourth, the raven-haired beauty known as Mona, lingers behind to flirt with Grady.

After the two strike up a flirtatious conversation, they are interrupted by the other three girls, tired and grumpy from a long day on the road and eager to check into their hotel across the street. Grady watches the four girls leave his life, prepared for another dull shift of reading skin mags and downing Red Bulls, when the cowbell over the door rings once more; it’s Mona, and she’s come back to tempt Grady with a proposition.

This is the first story in the Truck Stop Temptation Series and it’s a quick fun read. It’s told from the male POV, in the first person and in the present tense, so it might not be everyone’s pick. However, I felt that the use of first person and present tense really added to the story, the atmosphere, and also gave me a sense of being there.

Grady is a sexy, likeable character. Mona is a likeable too and their dialogue sounded natural. The author did a great job fitting in lots of story in these 18 pages and I think a lot had to do with spot on pacing.

It’s hot, sexy and won’t take you more than 15 minutes to read and perfect to squeeze in during the upcoming hectic holiday season.
