Michael’s secrets have the power to keep them apart forever, but Very and Wolf have secrets of their own. Novels that are based on true history can sometimes go astray and at other times can be a lesson is history. In this book, Samantha Kane throws in actual events and creates amazing situations around them.

These Brothers in Arms series is based in Regency England and centers on a group of soldier from the Napoleonic wars, who have developed an alternative lifestyle for the times while clashing with the mores and norms of the period.

With so many secondary stories within the novel, Samantha Kane has brought along all her characters from the previous book to complete the life of Very, Wolf and Michael. Each book in the series is based on the relationship of two men who found the love and life they wish to share with one another but at the same time look for the one woman who can accept their life and join them to complete their life. They have created a community of friends who understand and accept each other but most importantly are loyal and supportive of each other.

As in all the books, the sex is aggressive, frequent and encompasses all possibilities of circumstances, combinations and throwing the dictated rules of the society out the window for all the hear.

I must admit, that even though this is an excellent story with the most amazing characters, it is not my favorite of the series. If you read the first seven books you will most definitely find your own favorites. Very’s character had been a source of amusement and entertainment since her arrival and continues to remain constant. Even if you haven’t read the first books, this story stands by itself with great strength. Be open minded and enjoy a somewhat different journey in Regency England. I bet you won’t regret it.
