He will have his revenge—one wicked seduction at a time.

Pendragon Gargoyles, Book 3

Emma is used to getting dragged into her twin sister’s magical messes, but this time her predicament is more than a minor annoyance. She’s chained to a cat shifter that her sister encased in a curse of stone. Worse, the unfortunate gargoyle’s waking up. And her sister’s not there to take the heat.

After a century suspended in stone, Cian would do anything to get his hands on the sorceress who put him there. Strangely, his dreams of revenge turn into an animal hunger to put his hands all over her—in every delightfully wicked way imaginable.

Never as talented as her sister, Emma doesn’t trust her own magic. But for now she must let Cian believe she’s the culprit in order to strike a bargain: to permanently lift the curse in exchange for his tracking skills to find her missing sister. The longer she is near him, though, the closer she comes to surrendering much more than her body to the brutal warrior.

As their attraction catches fire, Emma dreads what could happen when he learns the truth. If he will sacrifice her to break the spell…or fight for a love that goes beyond animal instinct.

Cleaning up her sister’s messes was starting to really get old. At least Emma was beginning to think so. Then a case of mistaken identity lands her in so much trouble, Emma is ready to scream. Cian is a cat shifter, but thanks to Emma’s twin, he was turned to stone for one hundred years, which can make even the nicest guy a bit cranky. Emma could think of worse things than being shackled to a gorgeous and sexy shifter like Cian, but unfortunately, things get complicated and soon both are on the run together, trying to stay alive. Can Cian figure out why he is so drawn to Emma, thinking she is the one who cursed him? Can Emma find happiness with her cat, or will the threat after her succeed? Will these two survive to live happily ever after?

I found this story a lot of fun to read. I loved the characters that Sydney Somers created, and the world she put them in was fun as well. Emma was determined to right the wrong her twin perpetrated on Cian. I loved Emma, a sorceress who believed she had very little power, but was determined to use what she had to her advantage. It was so endearing that in some ways she was clueless about things, but she just kept on trying, and managed to succeed in spite of herself.

Cian should’ve been bitter and spiteful, but I think he was delicious. There was a quality to him, having “slept” for a century, that things have passed him by, and he wanted to catch up quickly. And I enjoyed his confusion about his feelings for Emma. On the one hand, he wanted revenge for his cursed state, but he also wanted nothing more than to make love to the beguiling witch until she screamed his name.

Throw in a couple of less than scrupulous dark elves wanting Emma’s power, a friend who is more than she seems, several really hot encounters, and several fae royals, and you have the recipe for a thoroughly entertaining reading experience. Do the cat and the sorceress get their happy ever after? You’ll have to read through some strange twists in the road to togetherness in order to find out.
