Ali Baker is a corporate executive with a house in an upscale suburb of Houston. The only thing missing is the right man to share it with. But a lifelong struggle with weight has left her with low self-esteem that keeps her from taking a chance on love. A new fitness plan gives her a slimmer figure, but she hits a plateau before reaching her goal. Ali joins the local gym to rev up her metabolism, but she has no idea her love life’s about to go into overdrive, too!

When she meets British trainer Daniel Wells, the heat between them sizzles. They begin a torrid affair that takes them both by surprise. Then Ali discovers he hasn’t been completely honest with her, and old insecurities threaten to unravel their relationship. Daniel must fight to regain her trust, and he’ll do anything to become the one addiction she can’t resist.

Have you ever been self-conscious about your body? Ali Baker had serious body image issues and she had plans for attacking them with lots of exercise and some unexpectedly sexy calorie-burning extracurricular activities thrown in.

Ali is a corporate accountant who owns a home in Texas. She’s decided it was high time to start living her life fully without excess weight, when she literally ran into Daniel Wells at the gym she chose to join. Daniel is handsome and apparently more of a catch than meets the eye. He’s British and lives a double life, sort of. I loved reading about both of these characters. Ali has her priorities straight and is willing to work hard for anything that she wants. Her dedication and perseverance is very admirable. Daniel is also hard working and talented, but burning the candle at both ends. He is passionate about his work, his family, and Ali.

Although they seem to be a great match, Ali and Daniel encounter some obstacles in their relationship, especially with Ali’s tenuous confidence in her newfound slimmer self. I cheered for her when she and Daniel worked together to right an injustice. Score one for the girls who were blessed with less than perfect figures!!!

Ms. Chandler’s writing is promising, with good narrative and not overly descriptive or overly telling. However, I did find it a little too perfect of a situation with the hero being so successful. I love men who have a British accent, but everything with Daniel seemed to be all that was on a checklist for the perfect man. Still, the story was a great escape for me, reading about Daniel and Ali’s passionate encounters.

Perfectly Imperfect is the bigger woman’s answer to all the good looking women who look down on them. I highly recommend this book to women who are working on getting their inner slimmer selves recognized or for those who just need a great story with some hot scenes.
