A Love to Protect

Corentin, the third brother cursed to live as a Gargoyle has given up on love. He knows not if it will ever come to him and he does not believe himself worthy of it.

When Patricia flees an abusive boyfriend to find her way to her best friends, who have invited her to come to France, the last thing she expects is to find is love in the arms of a gentle giant.

Amidst the painful memories from their pasts, they find a passion that consumes them from the beginning. It forces both of their reservations and fears to the side as love finds its way into not only their hearts, but their very souls.

When Patricia has finally had enough of her abusive boyfriend she decides to join her best friends in Paris. Is she brave enough to try and get away from David? Can Patricia make it away from him or will David stop her?

This short story was definitely a page-turner for this reader. I was pulled in to the story right from the beginning. Patricia is a very strong-willed and smart woman. With the help of her two best friends she is fighting her way back to herself and to the way she was before. Corentin is a great hero. He comes off as brooding and mean but underneath it all, he has a heart of gold. If you are getting your driver’s license at the earliest. levitra generic It seems that he needs a bit of coaxing to bring it out again and hopefully Patricia will be the one to do that.

Both Corentin and Patricia each carry their own baggage that they must deal with before they can even begin to look for love. Watching the relationship between the two blossom and heal each other’s hurts was a great read. The love that Patricia and Corentin share shines right off of the pages. I enjoyed seeing Patricia regain what she lost with the help of her friends. The love that is shared between the friends is a wonderful touch. The girls are inseparable and care greatly for each other, just as the brothers do, creating a bond of love and trust that no one can tear apart.

With characters full of emotion, and depth, Shiloh Darke once again does a wonderful job. Each of the stories in this series has been a great read and I am eagerly waiting to see what is in store for us in the next installment. I happily give this book 4 cherries.
