She’s a rock star, he’s not. That doesn’t stop them from making beautiful music…

The lights, the crowds, the shows—the success that comes with topping the rock charts seems bright and glittering. For Ami, lead singer of the mega-hot band Haunted, it’s anything but. She’s tired of being “on” every waking second. There’s never any time to breathe, and the pressure is driving her toward becoming a dangerous cliché—the drunken musician.

Desperate to regain control of her life, she runs, looking for space. For peace. For herself. What she finds is Edward.

Having a famous rock star staying in his home, Edward is enchanted and stunned. How could a woman like her be drawn to his simple, down-to-earth lifestyle? There’s only one thing he can offer her: a willingness to help with no strings attached.

Slowly, in Edward’s arms, Ami gets back in touch with the woman she remembers. The one who loves music. Laughter. The touch of a lover’s hands on her body.

But the real world won’t let her hide forever. The consequences could cost her her hard-won peace…and her muse.

She’s a rock star, glitzy and edgy and nearing burnout. He’s a widower, an almond farmer and a homebody. It seems like a match made anywhere but in heaven. So can these two lonely people find a way to save each other, or will they just burn bright and then burn out?

Ami is the front person for the rock sensation Haunted, but sees herself fading away in the image. It comes to a head when she literally falls into Edward’s arms when she needs a break from the public eye. Edward is all for helping a damsel in distress. Despite the much needed reprieve from the public eye, she knows sooner or later the real world will find her and yank her back. The big question is whether Edward can fit into the rock star world she lives in, and would he even want to.

S. L. Carpenter has written a most beautiful Love Song. It has beautiful romantic notes and at the same time is such a real look at life. I loved the silly conversations Edward had in his head, and with “the little voice coming from between his legs.” As Ami said a few times, Edward is such a guy. What really made this book such a fun read was that the interaction between the characters was real. I found myself wincing and laughing right along with the story. Reading this, I laughed, I cried and then I laughed some more. I could see these things happening in a relationship that is just starting. And the romance: hot and steamy, especially the bathtub sex.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a bit more romance in their life, and a hot night of reading. Do the rock star and the almond farmer have a future together? Read S.L. Carpenter’s Love Song, and make up your own mind.

  1. I really appreciated your kind words about my little story. It was fun to write and I love the fact I made you laugh, cry then laugh again. Love music and sexy stories.
I would email you one of those gushy, mushy emails and all that but can’t find an email address to send e-flowers or e-orgasms to.
    Thank you again,
