And what will happen to her once he has her locked away in his castle?

I have always been a lover of fairy tales: Cinderella, Snow white and of course my favorite, Beauty and the Beast. So imagine my delight when I read the first page of In the Wolf’s Tower and discovered that it was actually a take on Beauty and the Beast. This book is part of the Naughty Fairy Tales series which in itself is intriguing.

Princess Josette has been sold to Lord Marrok by her father, the King, for a large amount of gold. Josette thinks she is to become Lord Marrok’s wife, but he quickly tells her he has no intention of marrying her. However, he’s fascinated by her spirit and lack of fear since he’s known as the Wolf, and has been known to scare anyone who dares to cross his path. Josette has resigned herself to her fate and Lord Marrok doesn’t know quite what to make of her.

I really enjoyed this story, the banter between the two characters was refreshing and the author gave you enough background on these two that they soon felt like old friends. Lord Marrok was the Wolf, he’s lived alone for some time after being cheated on by his first wife, then cursed to live his life as an actual wolf. This reader soon realized he had issues trusting and expected Josette to be a pampered princess he could torment. Josette knew his reputation but it did not scare her in the least. She was fascinated by him and the more she got to know him the more she wanted him. I also soon understood why he picked Josette and why her father, the King, thought nothing of selling her to him.

There was also another character in this tale that looked out for Josette, Rumpelstiltskin the cat. He would find gold coins and jewels and give them to her. Josette being a princess and untouched, was introduced to sex by Marrok gently and I liked that the author showed that side of the character. There was light bondage and spanking but it enhanced the story and helped me understand the characters even more. In the Wolf’s Tower was short but it did not lack or leave this reader wanting. It would have been nice to have a few more chapters but I found this short to be very satisfying and entertaining.
