After discovering that he is a military man, she’s convinced that things like this are the reason she is hell bent against marrying military, even if it is five generations strong in her family.

But the military policeman assigned to her case is smoking hot and hard to ignore. Shane Newhope promises to keep her safe, is it so bad that he sends tingles down her spine in the process?

Only if you’ve told your brothers that you want nothing to do with the military, and they’re convinced that a military man is just what you need.

She’s got a stalker and a pair of overprotective brothers. Which is the lesser of two evils? Depends on how you look at the situation. But if the stalker is Hell Bent. Then you’ve got a whale of a story.

I like military themed stories. The combination of action and hunky men in uniform is usually a deal maker for me. Hell Bent was heavy on hot men and indeed served up lots of action. I felt like I was right there with Mindy as she dealt with both the stalker and her brothers.

There are really two storylines going on in this novella. I liked the intertwining of them, but there were a couple of drawbacks for me. Parts of the story seemed to zip by while other parts dragged a bit. I realize there is a gift to telling just the right amount and a talent in not overdoing it. The characters actually gave me the most trouble. I liked Mindy’s steely resolve. She wasn’t backing down from anyone. Her way of going through life was good, if not a bit rigid, but it worked for her character. Shane was the requisite hunk and delivered the goods. He cared about Mindy when he didn’t have to and really wanted her. His passion was palpable. The brothers, on the other hand, drove me barmy. I liked the overprotective angle, but there were more than a few times when I wanted to tell them to back off. I got that she needed to find the power to deal with them within herself, but they became overbearing.

Still, this was a good book for a summer afternoon. Filled with action, gun play, and steamy hot sex on the beach, Hell Bent is a worthwhile read. I give it 4 cherries.
