Joanne Kells writes a story with characters I could relate to and situations I felt like I’d been in. I love Charlie and his apprehensions. He’s such a funny guy but he’s so unsure. If the worst can happen, it does for Charlie — a missed opportunity, a broken body part, a misunderstanding. Plus, I love his innocence. Instead of being callous and jaded, Charlie is a refreshing, sweet natured character you want to hug.

As for the other hero, Tom is just a good guy. I like his approach to courting Charlie — roundabout. I like his selflessness, even when he trips over himself to make Charlie happy. I could relate to his need to be with Charlie even when he’s not sure Charlie wants him for more than a fling.

My only issue was I wanted to see things from Tom’s point of view. I wanted to see how he’d built things up in his mind and how he felt about Charlie in the early stages. Other than that, I enjoyed this book immensely.

When I opened this book, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but before I knew it, I was finished and wishing for more. I felt like I’d left good friends behind, but at the same time, I was satisfied. And I have to say the sex or mutual masturbation in place of sex was HOT. I felt this way because Ms. Kells wrote the acts with a passion I experienced along with Tom and Charlie.

If you want a book that’s original and sensual, then you need to read Half of the Other. I give it 4 cherries.
