Peter Pan grew up, all right.

Peter Pan was supposed to be the boy who never grew up. Then Neverland blew sky high. Now he’s very much an adult and playing adult games. There’s one woman he wants for his bed, his cuffs, his toys… yeah, he’s ready to do all sorts of naughty things to Wendy. If he can find her.

Wendy Darling never expected Peter to come back. She’d grown up and moved on — to write white-hot BDSM tales. Can her perfect Dom be the one man she never thought she’d see all grown up?

I no longer have to wonder what would happen if Peter Pan grew into manhood. Oh my! For that matter, I certainly never expected to find Wendy in Ohio writing steamy BDSM fiction. Author Megan Slayer gives new definition to creative license with this hot little novella.

Set in a futuristic time period and yet on Earth, Pan is still in the business of protecting the inhabitants of Neverland who were displaced when the Neverland we knew was blown away in a war for the ages. Captain Hook isn’t around to hunt the Lost Boys, Tiger Lily, Peter or the fairies but that doesn’t mean they’re safe. Quite the opposite, actually. As is typical, hypocritical people try to ostracize what they don’t understand, even when they secretly pay to play with them behind closed doors. Those “closed doors” lead into the wildly popular BDSM night club owned by a now fully grown and restless Peter Pan.

There is A LOT going on in this terrifically clever short. Almost all of the characters I knew and loved from the classic are present in titillating circumstances. I had more than one “Oh, Wow” moment while reading this book. Wendy isn’t the only Darling child who couldn’t leave Neverland behind but I’ll just have to hold on to hope that Ms. Slayer has plans to give us more of Michael and John’s story.

As I mentioned, Capt. Hook isn’t around to cause trouble but that doesn’t mean Peter is free of the Hook influence. Wendy also had a run in with the present day Hook and one of his cronies who take all the fulfillment and pleasure out of the BDSM experience. Ms. Slayer does an excellent job of making the villains’ extra villainy complete with eye patches and bad attitudes.

I liked how Ms. Slayer built the tension between Wendy and Peter when they first meet face to face after being apart for so long. Wendy has grown into quite a self-sufficient woman and she has every intention of telling Peter he can fly right back out the window he came in. Old habits die hard, I guess. Peter and Wendy connected as children and that bond may have been stretched but it was never actually broken. Wendy is a bit sassier than I remembered but I think part of that is simply a false bravado so Peter doesn’t see right away how much she still very much loves him. Is he man enough now to be with a woman who’s experienced and in need of a strong, dominant man? He certainly has the right tools!

I’m really hoping Ms. Slayer plans to put her clever and creative mind to some other childhood favorites. I bet she could have a field day with Tarzan, Cinderella, Snow White and The Beauty and the Beast! Just sayin’….

Do yourself a favor and GET THIS BOOK! It’s fun and deliciously dark all at the same time. Don’t miss it!
