College sophomore Alexander Strauss has one rule: no messing around with straight guys. Especially not his mouthwatering roommate, Shannon. When their ride share drives off the side of a mountain, the two young men find themselves deep in an uninhabited forest searching for their missing friend. Wandering the famously cursed grounds of Dudleytown, Alex figures something truly unholy must be at play, because only insanity could tempt him to break his cardinal rule.

When three college friends take a short cut through an abandoned ghost town they get more than they expected than simple “things that go bump in the night”.

Alex Strauss is suffering a terrible day and its only getting worse. Alex is a very likable character; he’s funny and keeps a cool head in stressful situation, the kind of person you want around when bad things happen. He’s dealing with a lot, but the one thing that is trying his self control the most is his sexy roommate, Shannon. The highjinks that occur in the quest to save their friend and get out of the scary dark woods alive are pretty funny. This story did a good job of both scaring me and making feel all warm and fuzzy with the love these two men had towards one another.

L.B. Gregg did a great job of bringing to life the abandon little ghost town of Dudleytown. She wrote with such explicit detail I felt as if I was actually there. This story was written in first person, so you knew exactly what Alex was thinking and feeling. I’m not a big fan of first person point of view story telling but LB Gregg did such a good job of describing things through Alex’s eyes you got a good understanding of how everyone else was feeling.

If you’re looking for a love story with humor and suspense mixed in, this story is for you.
