Single high school coach Jared Whitman is horrified when his little sister insists that he take ballroom dance lessons in preparation for her upcoming wedding.

Diandra Davis loves teaching ballroom but it can’t fill all the lonely corners of her life.

When the two meet the attraction is instantaneous, the heat palpable, but a big misunderstanding threatens to keep them apart.

Jared Whitman has to take the place of his deceased father by walking his baby sister down the aisle and dancing with her at her wedding. The only problem is that Jared can’t dance and his sister Carrie has signed him up for dance lessons, which he absolutely does not want to take. However, he cannot deny his sister anything and agrees to take the lessons. He just knows there will be only senior citizens in his class and he’ll become the object of some seniors’ desire. As he walks into the class, he hears latin music and all his fears have become a reality, all he sees are seniors dancing.

Diandra Davis is a dance instructor at The Loft dance studio waiting for her new student to come in, hoping that he doesn’t step on her feet all night. As she looked towards the door her heart stops, her skin gets all tingly and the most beautiful man she has ever seen walks in. She takes one look at him and he at her and all speech seems to leave. She has never wanted someone so badly and so quickly before; there’s immediate chemistry.

The conflict of the story deals with some intentional as well as unintentional misuderstandings. While that’s not an unusual trope in a storyline it’s the misunderstandings between them and the way they work it out that made for an endearing story.

These two characters were sweet and even though the story was short they were very well developed. It was fun to see the immediate attraction between the characters and how his friend Stan explained some facts about women to him. The story kept my attention and I found myself smiling, and wishing that it was just a little bit longer.

Cheek to Cheek is one of those stories that will put you in a good mood, read it and see for yourself, I think you’ll be glad you did.
