When magic takes hold, there’s no bluffing the heart.

Cannon Pack, Book 4

Mari Thornton, professional gambler, prides herself on playing high-stakes poker the old-fashioned way: with skill, charm and luck, and without using her magic. She’s determined to win the Las Vegas Poker Extravaganza’s gold bracelet and million-dollar prize, but Tucker Manning’s raw, sexual appeal is throwing her concentration off. Way off.

An up-and-coming poker whiz, Tucker plans to enjoy every second of this tournament, especially when he feels Mari’s magic brush up against his werewolf power. With luck, he’ll win and win big, taking both the tournament and the green-eyed beauty whose magic oozes out of her hot body like honey. Proving that last year’s winner is a cheat will make the victory all that much sweeter.

When she senses Bryson Bascomb’s dark, supernatural influence over his opponents, Mari agrees to Tucker’s proposal to help expose the vampire’s trickery. But Bascomb isn’t going down without a fight. And the fallout leaves Mari wondering if she can trust Tucker with her life. Or if in the end, he’ll throw in his hand…and throw her under the bus.

Take one Las Vegas Poker Extravaganza, add in one sexy werewolf player, a witch who plans to win the old fashioned way, using skill, talent and brains not magic, and you have the makings of a great rivalry.

When Bryson Bascomb joins the game, he brings a dark edge, and a winning streak to the table. Bascomb isn’t just another player here, he’s a vampire, and he’s been using his powers to win his way to the top. Tucker and Mari uncover his cheating, and decide it’s time for Bascomb to lose, not just the tournament, but his hold over the poker world and everyone in it. Can the sexy wolf and the crafty witch join forces to stop Bascomb from his goal?

Beverly Rae has written a delightful and sexy romp through the poker world of Las Vegas. The characters are well defined and likable, the dialog is witty and sarcastic, and the passion between the hero and heroine is hot and steamy. This is Ms. Rae’s fourth visit with the Cannon Pack, and it’s every bit as much fun and entrancing as the others. The combination of reality and fantasy here is a joy to read, and I loved every minute I spent there.

Mari Thornton is a witch, and an expert poker player. Simply explain in detail the entire mechanism of generic levitra online raindogscine.com having a heart attack is very low. I like Mari for her sense of honesty and fair play, and her determination to stop the cheating vampire. She’s honest, smart and ready to meet any challenge. When she meets Tucker, the attraction is strong and hot, but she’s determined not to let him sidetrack her aim to win. When she realizes Bascomb is up to no good, she turns to Tucker for help in bringing the cheater down.

Tucker Manning is the hot newcomer on the poker circuit, talented and smart, and so what if he is a werewolf. It doesn’t affect his playing ability. Handsome and sexy, he’s drawn to the beguiling witch at the table, but not at the cost of the game and his goal of winning it all. I like Tucker’s sense of honor, and his willingness to admit his feelings for Mari. When Bascomb starts cheating, Tucker is more than ready to teach the vampire a lesson.

This is a wild ride through the casinos of Las Vegas, with lots of adventure, danger, and of course Ms. Rae’s brand of hot and steamy action. The story is fast paced and filled with surprises, and twists around every corner. I like this world of the Cannon Pack, and its ever expanding family. I’d recommend this for those who like laughter, intrigue and passion all rolled together.
