Amber told me she knows she’s written a good story if it turns her husband on. Amber has always loved romance and, when she first started writing, she wrote Danielle Steele-type stories, but decided she didn’t like sex behind closed doors—plus she finds writing erotica more challenging.
“Straight romance can be so vanilla,” she explained. “With erotica you have to keep inventing new ways to have sex.”
“What does your family think about you writing erotica?” I wondered.
“My son doesn’t mind. My middle daughter can’t believe her mother could write that kind of ‘stuff’ and my youngest has no clue. And of course the DH just loves it!” she added with a smile.
Amber loves her life and, even if she could, wouldn’t choose to be anyone else. And, for good reason—when she’s not writing she can often be found on a float in her pool, playing catch with her three dogs, or spending time with her new grandbaby.
