“Sexual gratification is achieved through control and self-actualization. It is submission. It is dominance. And it is powerful.”

Synge is an anomaly in the Granite Pleasure House: a Sadist who is not aroused by pain. He’d entered Granite to learn to master the pain of his tormented childhood, not to inflict it on others. That doesn’t stop those who relish pain from seeking him out, but Synge is used to refusing them – until a desperate, virginal slave named Rown offers himself. Afraid that someone else will break the beautiful boy, Synge accepts – and Rown will learn that what his new master wants from him is not at all what he expected.

When I started reading this story it wasn’t what I expected. Its starts off talking about this world of Nyph and how it has its different categories of people, sadists, masochist, and slaves. So one would think it would be about dominance, spankings, and things of that nature, but it wasn’t. Hence consumption of such medications can be extremely cialis generic cheapest uncomfortable. It’s a story of one man trying overcome the violence of his past.

I really like the character of Synge; he’s a strong man but doesn’t use that strength or his title over others to dominate them. For this man, his lifestyle is strictly for his own healing — a coping mechanism. I found that Synge was a real respectable man and even more so when he takes in a slave name Rown. He accepts Rown’s offer to take him home because Synge knows it’s the right thing to do to keep the other man safe. Not the typical behavior of a sadist.

At first I thought Rown was a poor misguided youth who had been abandoned by the people in his life. I found out that Rown had a plan from the very beginning on how to get what he wanted for himself and Synge. In a world where the weaker are pushed into a submissive role, it was refreshing to see this young man as confident and determined to get what he wants out of life.

This book is the third in the series and I look forward to reading the two prior stories. This is a touching love story between two men living in a world separated by dominants and submissives, but more than that it’s about two men who have had hard lives and how they overcome their past to find their own happiness together in a world where they feel alone.
