The one downside to this is that Michael spends the entire book hung up on an ex that he broke up with 12 years ago. He calls out his ex’s name in his sleep, frequently moons over the ex, and basically shows no signs of ever moving on despite the lengthy time gap and the fact the ex has certainly moved on. This elephant in the room definitely hinders the romance of Michael and Jack, which readers are supposed to believe magically is okay at the end, and this abrupt, quick ending left me dissatisfied.

However, except for this, the story is interesting and well written. So, if you’re looking for something different and a fascinating glimpse into another culture, I’d still easily recommend this story.
