He is a hunter at heart…but her heart is no easy prey.

Hannah Walpole suspected the etiquette lessons her parents insisted upon were a wasted effort. Now, looking around at the ton at her debut, she’s sure of it. Her home is the African continent. She simply does not fit in English Society. Nothing will convince her otherwise, especially not a devilishly handsome lord with black hair, vivid green eyes and a wicked reputation for debauching innocent young women.

Lord Miles Whitely admires Hannah’s adventurous spirit and cool composure in the face of adversity. It doesn’t hurt that their first encounter provides him with the delightful opportunity to get his hands beneath her skirts.

When the lady declares she cannot be seduced, he cheerfully takes up the gauntlet she has unwittingly thrown down. But Hannah has no intention of succumbing to his striking gaze or honeyed flattery. Until a crisis leads her to suspect he’s not truly the cad everyone warned her about…

She’s a dessert rose stuck in the constricting and harsh world of debutantes and she still managed to bloom brighter and standout.

Hannah was easy heroine to like and to root for. She’s not a simpering miss and while she’s certainly more worldly than the average young lady of the ton, she doesn’t flaunt her experiences and she isn’t cruel. She is confident, though. I don’t like when an author makes the female lead scared of her own shadow, afraid to speak up or walk away when in it’s in her best interest and I had to love it when Hannah admits to herself and Miles that she never lies to herself. That doesn’t mean she allows herself to indulge in every whim or desire but, she honest in that she what she wants.

I like Miles, too. He’s a middle child of a large family and he does what the middle child tends to do. He draws attention to himself by any means necessary, regardless of the positive or oftentimes negative results. I thought it was interesting, his reaction, when he realizes that not all attention is good. When his reputation, though unfounded, nearly costs him the girl. In the end, the author gave me hope that while Miles may see humor in almost all situations, he was mature enough to know when to follow his heart.

This is a quick little read that I would have easily enjoyed as a much longer story. Hopefully, Ms. Sandas will someday decide to revise this and let us meet the other cousin whose tales of ruination led Hannah to try to hold Miles at a distance. I’d like to have seen her reaction to seeing them so very happy together despite her lies. Also, I really really wanted to see Beatrice get what she deserved. What a twit! I hope she has to a marry that awful stick in the mud Lord Hathmore. They deserve each other. Lastly, there’s Grimm. Bless him! I want him to find a love match either with the woman his father wants him to marry (that would be a nice surprise) or with someone else and then he can stand up to his father say he’ll marry who he wants to.

Those kinds of thoughts are what let me know I really enjoyed a story. I’m able to imagine it drawn out further, side characters having larger roles, unexpected surprises. I walk away still thinking about the book. That’s a good read.

Regency historical romance is my first love in books and this was a satisfying read. I’ll be following this author to see if she continues this story in other books or simply to check out her other offerings. She has a clean, clear writing voice that put me right into the scene. The details are on target for the time period and I look forward to slipping back in time with her again.

The thirty-year-old fashion designer has come home to Chicago to start over, this time on her own terms. Amid the lingering sting of betrayal, there’s one bright spot. A renewed friendship with childhood buddy Michael Montgomery.

For years, Michael pretended to be Faith’s husband to fend off unwanted attention, gave her a shoulder to cry on, and cheered the loudest when she left home for fashion school. Through it all, he never stopped loving her.

Time hasn’t dimmed the spark between them, but when another man hits on her, Michael realizes it’s time to stop hiding his true feelings. This thirty-one-year-old professional photographer is ready to pose for his own family portrait—with Faith as his wife.

Warning: Contains a photographer who’s through being pictured in a brother-ish light, and a fashionista who’s not sure her heart is quite mended enough to risk further alterations.

Michael Montgomery has always loved Faith McClendon. And at the age of 13 he proposed his love to her and foretold that she would be his forever and ever. Faith didn’t believe him. Life happened and Faith ended up marrying Kevin Harrington. Faith has returned home recently divorced and Michael finds that his feelings for Faith still remain.

The book started out slow and for a romance novel and was wordy with an overboard of details that made the story too long and drawn out. Later it felt like a build up as I enjoyed Michael loving Faith from a distance. His antics on trying to show her how he felt were adorable. I didn’t like once Faith recognized Michael’s feelings how quickly they acted on impulse. Faith didn’t see Michael as a love interest but when his feelings were revealed they went from zero to one hundred. Yes they knew each other years ago as children and young adults but people change. To me I would have liked to see them get reacquainted not just jump straight into bed.

I enjoyed the family bond and closeness. The family had fun, they are loving and had family traditions. I like the idea of the best dish contest that the family held each year during the Thanksgiving holiday. The women were entrepreneurs and held a strong stance. These factors made the book an enjoyable and inspiring read. The author seemed to write with her readers in mind. Faith had her issues with her prior marriage but eventually was able to let that baggage go leading to her opening her heart to love again. Many readers probably face this dilemma and will find it refreshing to read that there isn’t much opportunity of finding love again unless you open your heart and take a chance. And being the book is a holiday series the author shared recipes that are sure to complete any holiday family gala.

The writing style was easy to follow and the plot was pretty simple but the extra with Kevin gave the story a little twist that I didn’t expect.

Overall this was a pleasant read and one that I would recommend for those that enjoy a strong family bond.

The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come has had enough. No more being the third act in a make-them-repent performance, terrifying people with visions of death. But after twenty years as a faceless wraith, rebellion has consequences.

On the night of December 23rd, 1875, she becomes human—and lands facedown in the snow beside a shabby house. Wearing nothing but her shroud.

As is his custom, banker Justin Welland plans to spend Christmas with his nose to the grindstone. Finding a near-naked woman on his doorstep not only startles him out of his careful routine, “Laura Snow” makes him want to discover the secrets behind her slightly eccentric behavior, her beautiful eyes—and her ability to walk through a wall into his bedroom.

A sizzling kiss rekindles the warmth in Laura’s body and soul. But when a mirror shows her a vision of blood and death, she realizes that if she abandons her ghostly role, someone—maybe Justin—will have to take her place.

Warning: Contains a tightly buttoned-up banker who creates a special Christmas for a woman, and a ghost who discovers being alive has some unexpected…benefits. Also, a kiss that will curl your candy cane.

I have seen the holiday classic many times in all its incarnations but this is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone tackling the life, or unlife, of one of the ghosts of Christmas. This little novella is clever, fascinating and engaging. Ms. Perera treats the subject with the respect that it deserves but adds in a little romantic whimsy that is entirely charming.

The ghost of Christmas Yet to Come actually has a heartbreaking history that is shared with a reader. It garnered my compassion and empathy for a life cut short and her ensuing job as the third ghost in the classic tale. It’s not made clear exactly what she did to get booted from her once a year job, it might have been action or thought or emotion but the result is her landing in a heap on a snowy evening as a human – sort of. Her name is Laura and she’s a delightful contrast of world-weary and innocent, knowledgeable yet ignorant, enthusiastic yet cautious. It’s those inconsistencies that pique the hero’s interest, and Justin finds himself contemplating emotions and memories he’s buried for years. Laura causes conflict in the best way possible and what happens after that is a subtle magic.

What I liked about Justin was his ability to really listen, focus and not be prone to hysterics. I mean, who wouldn’t freak when they saw a person walk through a wall? Yet, the author had established a relationship between Justin and Laura that allowed the hero to not discount what his eyes witnessed and that spoke well to his personality and my belief that he’s a good guy for a hero.

Even though the story is short, they manage to believably fall in love in the time Laura has on this plain. The novella is gently told with a sweetness and patience that belies its briefness. There is more emphasis on their reactions to each other, how in tune they are to one another and how Laura’s very presence inspires Justin to want to be a better man, to be more and remember the dreams he once had when he was younger. All those little touches appeal to the romantic in a reader’s heart and it’s beautiful.

Laura’s ghostly duty allows her to see the future and it’s a dark one for Justin. But is his future written in stone? That’s the suspenseful part and it was well played. I really liked how the author handled the solution. It was freaky, spooky and effective. The description gave me tiny goosebumps.

Christmas Yet to Come is a short shot of shivery goodness and romance. It combines eerie with hope, and sweetness with the shadowy challenges of life. This is a story not to miss just because it’s so unique and entertaining. The happy ever after is chuckle-worthy and as satisfying as a reader could wish. It’s a definite recommend.

Piece of cake—because he won’t be faking it. He’s been in love with her since their school yard days, but never pushed it. She deserves someone who can offer her more.

A touch leads to a kiss, and a kiss to a night that throws a kink—or three—into Sky’s plan. Leaving her wondering if she’s going for the wrong man…and letting the right one slip through her fingers.

He’d been protecting her for as long as he could remember.

Holy hot ideas, Batman. In lust with one of her best friends since childhood, Sky enlists their mutual best friend to get the guy she thinks she wants. All Matt has to do is pretend he’s suddenly into her. Lucky for him, he doesn’t need to pretend at all.

I kind of loved everything about the premise and was really really hoping the story would meet my expectations. Boy did it! When Matt turns on the charm to convince their friends that he’s hitting on Sky, let’s just say she has a hard time focusing on the original plan. It also doesn’t hurt that certain events give them plenty of catalyst and opportunity to explore their chemistry.

Also, everyone should have a friend like Kat. This is the first book in this series that I’ve read but I think I’m going to have to go back and read the others to see what part she plays in the other couples who make appearances in this book and then I’ll be on the look out for her book as well. She’s fun.

The chemistry between Matt and Sky is off the charts. Matt admits to himself early on that he loves Sky but he’s a very interesting combination of sexy, ex-military gentleman outside the bedroom and super alpha all about the kink in the bedroom. I liked how the author shows Sky slowly seeing what was obvious to everyone else. I was curious to see how the development would affect their relationship with the other best friend, Caleb. I think Caleb is going to be just fine and I hope he gets his HEA soon. He’s going to make some girl really happy!

Every once in a while, when I really get absorbed in a story, I can hear a sound track play. This one may seem a little odd but Matt and Sky are so sweet, I could so clearly see Adam Sandler singing Grow Old With You to Drew Berrymore in The Wedding Singer. Yeah, it was that kind of epic love story.

This author just made my auto buy list as well as sent me out to look for the back list of this series. The length is really good because it didn’t give them too much time to waffle back and forth but it did give Matt ample opportunity to teach Sky that she loved a good spanking. This one is an easy recommend to read and re-read.

When a bad boy falls for an angel, the sparks could set the coldest season on fire.

Pine Point, Book 2

Pine Point hasn’t changed much in the eight years Zane Andrews has been away. But Zane sure has. These days, this reformed bad boy has no problem resisting the bored housewives who flirt shamelessly with their gated community’s security guard.

The only thorn in his side is the stray dog that keeps overturning the neighborhood’s garbage cans, and the cute, crusading do-gooder who barks at him for trying to chase it off.

Becca Ericksen knows Zane is just doing his job, but his tactics are making her job—to rescue strays and bring them to Pine Point Paws—much harder. Clearly, they have nothing in common, yet when the legendary playboy asks her out, she finds herself saying yes.
However, you should know that side effects are almost levitra 20mg tablets not observed in case of proper administration and dosage. With a sizzling kiss, something warm and unexpected begins to grow between them. Opposites can attract, but is attraction enough?

Becca has a way of collecting strays and not just the four legged variety.

Actually, Zane Andrews came home on his own so he’s not so much a stray as rescue. He’s just now realizing that what she’s rescued him from is a life without love, real honest love.

There’s so much to enjoy about this novella. The characters are easy to relate to and I just love a small town, bad boy comes home kind of story. Sure it’s a trope that’s been done but it’s one that draws me every time like a bee to honey. Having said that, it has to be done correctly. The characters have to have chemistry and real motivation. Simply putting them in a small town setting and calling him a “bad boy” won’t do it.

Zane and Becca have some high school history together even if they never ran with the same crowd in high school. I liked that she didn’t hold what she remembered about him as a teen over his head as an adult. She gave him a chance and she’s the perfect personality type who would see that he deserved a second chance.

These two have chemistry and I thought it was humorous that it’s actually Becca who has more trouble not climbing him like a tree. Don’t get me wrong, Zane wants her. Bad! But he also respects her and seems to have genuinely matured in the eight years he was away from Pine Point.

Interestingly enough, the main secondary character in this book never speaks, well never speaks in a human voice. He’s a dog that starts out as a thorn in Zane’s side but comes to represent something else altogether. It was fantastic to watch the development.

The story almost seems like the relationship is going to be sealed tight well before the end but there’s a reoccurring problem that has to be addressed. I could see both sides of the issue and that’s a good thing. I don’t like when author’s make an obvious two way street into a one way or the highway solution.

This was a fun read and an author I’d like to revisit since she loves the small town setting like I do. Her characters were nicely developed without information dumps and the love story hits all the right notes. I’d love to see Becca and Zane in a future installment to the Pine Point series. They’re headed for a really sweet and sexy HEA.

Teag and Bruce dream of opening their own bars, but that’s where the similarities end.

Their partnership is a natural fit, but every time they meet, sparks fly as they rub each other the wrong way. Or is it the right way? In the heat of the moment, it’s hard to tell.

Between renovation pitfalls, meddling friends, and miles of police tape, Teag and Bruce struggle to keep their venture—and their budding relationship—from going up in flames. And not the good kind. More like the one on the top of a B52 shot.

Warning: Contains a whipcord-lean and whip-smart bartender who knows what he wants—and how hard he wants it—and a go-with-the-flow bar manager who secretly likes to be told how hard to give it.

Teag wants to open his own bar, but he’s on a very tight budget. Bruce has just found out the bar he works at is being sold and he’s also on the lookout for a space to open a bar of his own. When Teag and Bruce find themselves scouting out the same location, the sparks fly between them. Despite the fact they each rub the other the wrong way, Teag is determined to try and make his bar work. So he makes a proposition to Bruce – they co-own the new property and run the bar together.

This is an interesting story I found myself really drawn into. Teag and Bruce are both intrigued by each other, but they seriously butt heads initially. Watching them each lower their guard and look past the superficial surface was lovely. Each man needs what the other can give him – both romantically and professionally – but they’re both resistant to needing or relying on the other. I found it really lovely to read. The pacing is also quite good. I found it slightly slow in the beginning, but as it picks up speed I eagerly turned the pages faster and faster.

I liked how there were a few sub-plots revolving around the bar and renovation, previous lives of the location, normal hiccups in the renovation process and a strange mystery about who was trying to derail the project. I thought there was plenty to keep any reader hooked. I also liked how there was so much chemistry and tension between Teag and Bruce. There was a limited amount of sex scenes – the plot and characters were far more prominent – but the erotic scenes were mouth-wateringly hot and definitely a delight to read.

A fun, mostly lighthearted story I’d happily recommend it for M/M readers.

Dominec and Grace, well, their relationship from the start has been off the charts rocky. Grace, a lioness, is a feisty fighter but also someone who is, unofficially, the person that everyone comes to unload their stress and all. This made her an endearing character because she didn’t act like she had to be tough all the time.

Somehow Dominec trusts and cares about Grace. What I loved about their relationship was he understood Grace when her family had difficulty understanding her. He knew that she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself and did not try to smother her with over-protectiveness though he would follow her around everywhere he could and only interfere when he’s positive she needs helps.

They had understanding as well as burn-your-clothes kind of passion. According to Grace, Dominec is unpredictable and according to Dominec, Grace is a pain in his tail, but a pain he’s willing to protect if she needed that.

Descriptive, with a plot about a nightmare organization and the shifters fighting to protect themselves. The plot unfolds with each page read and ensnared me to the end. Reader’s who like a strong female lead and man who’s strong enough to follow, should give this one a try.

He’s everything she never expected but, for one night in Vegas, Natalie is determined. With Noah by her side and in her bed, she knows she’s in for one seriously wilde night.

This is a gloriously fun “one night in Vegas” style story. I really enjoyed both Natalie and Noah’s characters and found myself drawn in to them both almost immediately. I was a little nervous when I found out how inexperienced Natalie was – all too often “almost virgin” heroines turn annoying and clichéd to my mind – but Ms Erickson did an amazing job with Natalie. I felt she was really well balanced and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the delectable night of passion she shared with Noah.

While the plot itself stuck to the fairly routine formula of a girl’s weekend getting disbanded for hot, sexy flings in Vegas, I enjoyed Natalie and Noah’s characters and interactions enough that I could look past the fact there were no real surprises here for me. I love Vegas stories though, and have to admit this fun read will be just as good upon second – or even third – reading, which is always a positive thing for any book in my mind.

A fun frolic of a story with interesting characters I found myself engaged in. While there shouldn’t be any surprises in the storyline itself, I’d recommend this for any readers wanting a bit of heat and spice in their romance and looking for a fun way to pass the weekend.

That was the main plot. The secondary plot is heady… a war between two species. And a crazed ancient who will do anything to get what she wants. The secondary plot is all about the Alphar and his responsibility to his people.

Cymbeline and Kerrick…their relationship was rocky from the start.  Their passion was bright hot sizzling. They had to learn each other and find their place in each other’s lives. For anyone who has read about mates in the paranormal world know that they are possessive and in this case, it’s the same. For me it showed me the realistic side of this romance. You work hard for what you want.

I love the writing style of Miss Grenelle. It was detailed albeit a couple of times it felt like she is trying to fit too much into one book. Sometimes it felt a little hurried. However, I loved every bit of reading time I spent on this and I’m looking forward to the next book. Miss Grenelle has given the readers a hint in this book about whose story would be written and whose story we would be reading about. And I would like to say that this will only increase the readers need to get the next book.

Two for one and just my kind of read. The first is the Unwanted and centers on Destin, a psychic who tracks down violent rapists. Her love interest is Caleb, a FBI agent who once helped to ground Destin until their nasty breakup. When the two are thrown together to solve another case, they risk everything to catch a rapist bent on terrorizing college girls.

Sexy moments between Destin and Caleb, loads of tension, the thrill of the chase and an introduction to how a psychic agency functions all made this a red hot read I wanted to curl up in bed with. The way the author captured the feelings of the victims, the absolute absorption of each experience by the investigator and the emotional scars felt by each character-wow. I want more.

The second book is The Innocent and centers on a town called Hell, Georgia. Jay is a psychic who gleans information from touching things. Gloves are a must. When she journeys to Hell to find out why her internet love interest has dumped her, she finds more than she bargained for. Linc, the former sheriff is fit to be tied. His daughter is missing and now Jay has come to visit. But is she here for him or his daughter? He can’t be sure-especially when he finds out about her abilities.

This tale is also smoking hot with a love scene that melted my e-reader around the edges. Nice. It was also a page turner for the crime solving aspect. A missing girl in a town known for its crooked players. The elite team that comes in to save them all is epic and I can’t wait for the next installment of this series.

These two novels were jam packed with psychic investigations and a sense that time was of the essence. The author did a marvelous job crafting characters I couldn’t get enough of and each time the book ended, I wanted to start reading again. Hot scenes, spot on dialog, world building that rocked, characters that breathed off the page.

Five star awesomeness! I highly recommend this read.
