“Your father is missing.”

Devon Cole tightened her grip on her cell phone and tried to make sense of what Sheridan March had just told her, as fear swept through her. Maybe she hadn’t heard right.

“What do you mean, missing?”

“The Coast Guard found the Princess Devon drifting five miles off shore early this morning,” the Arrowhead Bay Chief of Police explained. “But there’s no sign of him anywhere. And no clue to anything in the house. We went through every inch of it. The alarm was fried, probably needs to be replaced, but otherwise the place was clean as a whistle.”

Devon clutched the phone. “Was there anything on the boat? Something he might have had with him that could give us a clue?”

“Where’s the boat now. Would the Coast Guard hold onto it?”

“In its slip at the Bayside Marina. After the Guard went over every inch of it they had one of the men on the cutter bring it back in and berth it. I have the keys.”

Dev0n swallowed to ease the tightness in her throat. “When was the last time anyone saw him?”

Forward-PassShay Beckham grew up idolizing her brother’s best friend, star quarterback Joe Reilly. There was no one in their Texas town who had the moves to match Joe on or off the field. Years later, he’s still a player who has what it takes to drive any hot-blooded woman wild. But Shay isn’t a kid with a bad case of hero-worship anymore. She’s grown-up and independent, with her feet on the ground and a serious head on her shoulders. If she could just say the same for Joe.

It’s been fifteen years, but Joe Reilly hasn’t forgotten the skinny little kid who used to follow him around like a shadow. What he can’t get over is that the skinny shadow has grown into one hell of an incredible woman. One any man in his right mind would kill to get his hands on. And one who seems to be completely immune to him. He knows he and Shay could have something special together. If he could only convince her he’s about more than just the game.

Love Summertime

Of course, here in Texas it gets hotter than Hades and we consume gallons of sweet tea and ice water. But everything is so lush and rich. My crepe myrtles are bursting with color, the herd of white tail deer that lives where we are has produced some of the cutest new fawns and I can sit on my back porch until well after eight o’clock.

desiree cowboy texas summer (2)Of course, there’s another bonus to summer in Texas, especially when you live in the Hill Country where I do, surrounded by ranches. Cowboys work just as hard in the hot months, but under the broiling sun, if you’re lucky, some of them will rip off their shirts and you get to drool over those hard, sweaty muscles! I mean, is there a better place to ogle tough alpha males than on a ranch?

I also love summer because it reminds me of some of he most romantic moments in my life—walking along the beach with my late husband, letting the waters of the Gulf of Mexico wash over our bare feet. Or sitting on a dune beneath clear moonlight, drinking more of that sweet tea and counting the stars.

Summer is a time for barbecues, and of course Texas is a leader there, too. Smoked brisket, juicy ribs, corn roasted on the grill…mmm, mmm, mmm. All washed down with ice cold beer.

In my neck of the woods it’s also a good time to hang out late in the day at Luckenbach, right down the road from me, where Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson sang in those long ago years. Now on any afternoon you can sip a Lone Star beer and listen to that day’s performers in the Pickers Circle. Kick back and let the music just wash over you.

Summer is a time for love, for happy memories, for renewal of life and love. Is it any wonder that I love it so much?

Back In The Saddle

When Molly Hayes’ marriage fell apart, she ran home to Hayes Ranch to lick her wounds. What she really wants to lick is foreman Chance McDaniel, the star of all her erotic fantasies. But he had never given her the time of day. Why would he give her his nights?

Kink is a mild term for the kind of sex Chance McDaniel enjoys. But he’s learned the hard way not all women can handle his darker desires. He aches to give Molly the ride of her life but fears she’ll shy away from his wilder ways.

Will the past become a stumbling block or will both Molly and Chance, once wounded, climb back in the saddle?

Eight Second Ride

Jessie Wade is a tough as nails sheriff until bull rider Kyle Mitchell ends up in her jail. With his bone-melting good looks and seductive voice, he knocks Jessie’s defenses down one by one and awakens the sensuous woman she’s hidden beneath her uniform. But Jessie can’t afford to be soft. Or allow herself to fall for a cowboy who’s never in one town longer than it takes to ride a bull.

Kyle never backs down from a challenge, but after a passionate night with Jessie, he realizes there’s a hell of a woman behind the handcuffs and badge. Can Kyle convince Jessie he can take her for more than an eight-second ride?

Read an excerpt from “Eight Second Ride”:

Kyle Mitchell wanted to pry his eyes open but someone was pounding a drum inside his head so hard he was afraid to see daylight. Not only that, but whatever he was lying on was harder than a concrete floor and killing his back. He needed aspirin and coffee in large supply. He tried to raise his hands to press them against his aching temples but something jerked his right hand and prevented him from lifting it. Now he opened his eyes. And wished he hadn’t.

Unfortunately this wasn’t the first jail cell he’d been in, but he was pretty sure it was the worst. And he was pretty sure it hadn’t been modernized in the last fifty years. One wall consisted of the usual arrangement of bars with a portion of it hinged for a door. The sleeping arrangement, rather than a crummy cot that would have been a vast improvement, was a flat piece of wood with a mattress on it so thin he was sure he’d be able to see through it. And it was the kind that pulled down from the wall on chains.

And speaking of chain, he yanked at his right hand again and discovered he was handcuffed to one length of chain.

Damn! What the hell had happened? What had he gotten himself into now?

Squinting against the brightness of the light from the ceiling lights he looked down the length of his body.

Boots. Check.

Jeans. Check.

He clapped his left hand over his waist in a sudden panic.

Champion belt buckle! Okay! Check.

Shirt. Check.

He rubbed a hand over his square jaw, feeling the stubble of yesterday’s beard growth. Testing everywhere on his face he discovered his nose was tender but not broken, but the rest of his face felt as if a bull had stomped on it.

Wait. Was that what had happened? The last thing he remembered was lasting the full eight seconds on Sodbuster before landing in the dirt of the rodeo arena. Everything else was a blur.

“Well. It looks like you’re finally awake.”

The voice was pure music, soft, with a faint drawl. Squinting through the bars he thought for a minute his heart was going to stop beating. In the hallway looking in at him was about five-foot-four of the most breathtaking woman he’d ever seen. Dark blonde curls tumbled down to her shoulders, framing a lightly tanned face with emerald green eyes peeking out from thick, thick lashes. The stiff fabric of the uniform shirt she wore couldn’t conceal the lush ripeness of her breasts any more than the pants hid her mouthwatering curves.

But what really shook him up was the star gleaming from its place of prominence on her shirt, right over one of those nicely rounded breasts.

Holy hell! This was the sheriff?

He looked at her and something inside turned over. He had an urgent need to see this woman naked in his bed, but not the way he did with the usual women he rolled in the sheets with. Not an eight-second ride and done. No, even in his pitiful condition he could imagine making slow, soul-searing love to her. Everything from his balls to his brain went on instant alert.

Long and Short Reviews is pleased to welcome Desiree Holt who newest release, Northanger Abbey, is part of the Clandestine Classics collection from Total-E-Bound. Desiree will give away the winner’s choice to a book from her backlist to one randomly drawn commenter.

“Victorian England is such an interesting time to write about and Northanger Abbey was always one of my favorites,” she told me. “The challenge to ‘spicing it up’ comes from the fact that Catherine and Henry do not even meet until halfway through the book, so I had to think of a plot device to introduce the ‘spice’ earlier. I hope everyone has as much fun reading it as I did writing it.”

Desiree was always what she called a “hungry reader,” devouring books. Her dream, from the time she could put two sentences together, was to write a book.

“I originally thought I’d write straight mysteries, but found out I liked romantic suspense better and from there into all genres of romance,” she said. She has released over 130 titles and usually has multiple works in progress. She’s just done the full outlines for Locked and Loaded, book two in Attack Force and books seven and eight in The Sentinels She’s also finishing up the fifth book in The Phoenix Agency, the third book in Erector Set, as well out plotting out books 5-8 in her Rawhide series.

“Of course, I’d love to do another Clandestine Classic,” she assured me.

“How do you develop your plot and characters?” I asked.

“Wow. I don’t think I have a set format. Usually my characters come to me first (my friends laugh at me because I get my best ideas in the shower!). I define the characters and then play the What If game with them. But sometimes that’s not true. I wrote one book when all I had to start was one line. But I loved the line so much I developed a plot around it. And another story developed from a Letter to the Editor in the local paper.”

Desiree’s writing space takes up most of the wall in her great room. She has a built-in computer desk with plenty of shelves and drawers and places for her small television as well as her cats to lie down and watch her work. She has French doors on the right and a huge picture window on her left, so the room is always flooded with plenty of light.

She writes every day. First thing in the morning, she takes care of emails and promo, then she writes for six hours.

“I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis last year so I have to take more breaks during the day than I used to which has cut down a little on my production. I keep a notebook beside me in bed while I read and watch television at night and jot down ideas that pop into my head based on what I wrote that day,” she told me.

“What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?”

“You can hear my friends laugh about this one. I find I do my best work when reruns of Walker Texas Ranger is on my television. I know the shows so well I barely have to pay attention to them. My son tells me I like the program because the guy always gets the girl and the good guys always win. I wonder if Chuck Norris knows how much I owe him!”

She generally starts her research for a book with the Internet because you can find just about anything there. Depending on the genre and subject matter, she may move on. She has a neighbor who has a wolf that he keeps by special permission (it was badly injured and cannot survive in the wild) who has helped her a lot with wolf habits for her shifter series. She also has many contacts in law enforcement, a reader who owns a cutting horse ranch, and contacts in the BDSM community.

“You name it, I find them,” she assured me. “The most important thing to me when I write is that I be accurate.”

Desiree tries to put a little of herself in each of her heroines. She also tries to come at stories from a different angle. This helps keep her work different from other books in the same genre.

“For my Night Seekers series, for example, the books are all based on the legend of the Chupacabra, which no other romance author has done and it’s a real legend,” she explained. For The Sentinels I created a real agency. And for all my cowboy series, which are many, I live in the middle of ranch country in Texas so I have lots of different things to draw from.”

“What is your most embarrassing moment?” I asked.

“Well, I could say it was when I was in high school and the skirt I made in Home Ec fell apart at a basketball game but probably when I didn’t recognize one of my readers at a conference and she’s someone who’s been very loyal to me. I apologized for three days.”

Anniversary Blog Fest: Desiree Holt

Hi everyone. Leave me a comment. One lucky person will win a copy of Once Upon a Wedding.

I wrote Once Upon a Wedding sitting on a balcony overlooking a beach with that same gentle breeze and the warm sun inspiring me. What better place to meet the man to fulfill all your dreams and what better environment to let your erotic fantasies hang out. I wrote it some time ago but every summer I love to pull it out and read it.

So what’s it all about, this story that I consider a great beach read?

It’s summer and Rainie McIntyre’s wedding is just days away. But she has an unfulfilled desire she just can’t kill—one hot weekend with one hot guy, to live out her fantasies before settling back into her button down life. When she tells her fiancé he’s not too trilled but he figures better now before the wedding than after. So off she goes to the beach, where the warm sun and soft sand, along with tropical drinks, put her in the right mood. But will her weekend prince charming show up and satisfy her erotic wishes?

Loraine “Rainie” McIntyre longs for just one weekend to let down her hair and find a man who will help her live out all her fantasies before her conventional wedding to her very conventional fiancé and continuing her very conventional life. Despite Stuart’s protests, she knows she has to do this or she’ll always feel she missed something in life. Goodbye Loraine, hello Rainie. And hello Joe, the sex god with lion’s eyes she meets at the beach. Hopping on his motorcycle with him, she roars off to a weekend of the wildest sex anyone could ever want. But things are not always what they seem and life is about to hand Rainie a few surprises.

Read an excerpt from the book:

“Sounds like you should have a talk with Stuart.” They were silent for a long moment. Joe picked up one of her hands and played with the fingers. “So Rainie-who-wants-to-be-wild. Do you think I’d do?”

She frowned. “Do?”

“You know. For the weekend fling. I’m healthy, momentarily unattached and I can promise you the sex will be better than you can imagine.”

Her heart was beating in a stuttering rhythm. A flutter deep in her womb began to increase in tempo.

While she chewed on her lip, Joe made the decision for her. He swallowed the last of his drink, rose with lithe jungle grace and held out his hand to her. “Come on. I promise you an adventure you won’t forget.”

Rainie looked up at him. A wildness glittered in his lion’s eyes, a hint of something feral and untamed beneath all those tanned muscles and that amazing grin. Anticipation rolled over her.

“All right.” She stood up, hitched the thin strap of her flat purse over her shoulder and gave him her hand.

He tossed their drink cups in a trash barrel and led her toward the street.

“Where are we going?”

“I rented a house down the beach for the weekend. How does that sound?”

She paused. “I don’t have any clothes except what I’ve got on. And my car’s in the garage here.”

The amber eyes darkened to a deep gold. “If things work out you won’t need any clothes. And your car’s safe at the hotel. Anyway, I’ve got the transportation covered.”

They stopped at the curb where a gleaming silver Ducati motorcycle rested on its kickstand.

Rainie’s mouth flopped open. “Is this yours?”

“Sure is.” He winked at her and handed her a helmet. “Here. You’ll need this. Don’t want to splatter your brains before we get to that wild sex.”

Suddenly Rainie threw back her head and laughed. What the hell. This was what she wanted, wasn’t it? “Okay, Joe. Crank ‘er up.”

She hopped onto the motorcycle behind him, wrapped her arms around his hard, muscular body, her hands clasped against sun-warmed male skin and inhaled. A cologne so light its fragrance was almost elusive mingled with the scent of the sun, the Gulf waters, the lingering coconut aroma of the piña coladas and the male essence that was uniquely Joe. She had to squash an irresistible urge to pull up his shirt and lick his skin to see if he tasted as good as he smelled.

They roared down the street with wheeling seagulls squawking overhead and the rushing slipstream of the wind sweeping away the last vestiges of restraint.

Sticking your toe (or anything else) in the BDSM waters
I have to say that for most of my years, my sex life could be classified as vanilla with a hefty dose of cinnamon—all the things on the vanilla to do list but with a heavy dose of spice.  Even when I married Hubby Number Two, my very own cowboy hunk who is the model for alpha males, we added some hot pepper—okay, a lot of hot pepper—but I wasn’t writing erotic romance then. Play, I wasn’t writing anything then!. So those parts of our relationships that fit into BDSM were—just parts of our relationship.
Then, a few years ago, I read my first book by a BDSM author and I thought, OMG! Where have I been all my life? Not only was it a beautiful story about a relationship, it depicted the BDSM lifestyle in such a manner that I became a shopaholic—I combed epublishers for BDSM books.
Okay, okay, call me obsessed. And no, he doesn’t cuff me and spank me naked on the front porch, or decide to put on nipple rings in the middle of the grocery store. And we’ve had to find a balance in our relationship because we are both very, very strong personalities, and submission does not come naturally to me.
But as I began writing BDSM, like everything else I write I wanted to do my research so I would not depict the lifestyle in a manner insulting to those who live it. There are many, many really good sites on the Internet that give you a lot of information about the lifestyle, and really explain the emotional side of it.
Then I took a leap of faith, joined a chat room (using a screen name) and explained who and what I was. I got very lucky. Two people have become my online friends, willingly answering questions for me as long as they have a guarantee of anonymity and respect.
I’ve learned a lot about them—and about myself. I learned that the D/s relationship is all about sharing and caring. That the Dom provides and tremendous sense of emotional security for his sub, and at the same time the sub is as much in control because her submission is the source of his pleasure. I learned how to establish a give and take when there are strong personalities to establish a balance.
And I learned that whether you are totally into the BDSM lifestyle or just enjoy parts of it, those parts can enhance your life beyond anything you can imagine.
I began to reach a point where BDSM is a part of the relationship in ninety percent of the books I write. The extent to which it plays a part really depends on my, characters, but it’s always there. And the more I write about it, the more I understand my own feelings, and realize that in every Dom there is a hint of a submissive, and in every sub there is a hint of the Dom.
It’s one of those things where I want to tell people, who ask me how I can write about it—don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Any portion of it.
So if you want to try one new thing today, or this week, or this month. Pick up a book by an author who writes about The Life and you’ll discover you’re really in for a treat.
Go on. Stick your toe-or any other part of your body-in the BDSM waters and see what happens.
I love to hear from people.

The Big O

And I don’t mean Outrageous!!!!!

Orgasm is the sudden discharge of accumulated sexual tension resulting in rhythmic muscular contractions in the pelvic region that produce intensely pleasurable sensations followed by rapid relaxation. Orgasm is also in part a psychological experience of pleasure and abandon, when the mind is focused solely on the personal experience. It is sometimes called climaxing or coming.

In Masters and Johnson’s original research of the human sexual response cycle, orgasm is the third of four stages, occurring after the plateau phase and before the resolution phase. Another widely accepted model of the sexual response cycle, developed by Helen Singer Kaplan, M.D., PhD., involves just three stages: desire, excitement and orgasm.

Orgasms vary from person to person and for each individual at different times. Sometimes orgasm is an explosive, amazing rush of sensations, while others are milder, subtler, and less intense. The differences in intensity of orgasms can be attributed to physical factors, such as fatigue and length of time since last orgasm, as well as to a wide range of psychosocial factors, including mood, relation to partner, activity, expectations, and feelings about the experience.

Orgasm — A Total Body Response
There are several physiological components of orgasm. First, orgasm is a total body response, not just a pelvic event. Brain wave patterns have shown distinct changes during orgasm, and muscles in many different areas of the body contract during this phase of sexual response. Some people experience the involuntary contraction of facial muscles resulting in what looks like a grimace or an expression of discomfort or displeasure, but it is actually an indication of high sexual arousal.

The most characteristic physical feature of orgasm is the sensation produced by the simultaneous rhythmic contractions of the pubococcygeus muscle (pc muscle). Along with contractions of the anal sphincter, rectum and perineum, the uterus and outer third of the vagina (the orgasmic platform) for women, and the ejaculatory ducts and muscles around the penis for men, this constitutes the reflex of orgasm.

The first few contractions are intense and close together, occurring at about 0.8-second intervals. As orgasm continues, the contractions diminish in intensity and duration and occur at less frequent intervals.

Okay, so this is pretty clinical, right? It does give you all the right terminology but what about the…sex!…Romance!

Here’s a scene from Where Danger Hides where Noah shows Taylor just how he can drive her to that Big O.

Find it at Ellora’s Cave www.jasminejade.com and at all virtual bookstores.

His pinned her with his gaze as he began the slow dance, in and out, back and forth, a slow, steady rhythm, the scrape of his cock against the walls of her cunt so erotic she thought she’d come just from that sensation alone. She locked her ankles behind his neck to balance herself and then she couldn’t think at all. His shaft stroked her in and out, the soft slap of his balls against her ass a counterpoint.

On and on he went, never varying the rhythm. In and out. Back and forth. She felt the sweat on his body under the skin of her calves and felt the strain of the muscles in his arms holding himself in place.

“Take your nipples,” he gasped. “Pinch your nipples for me.”

Obediently, wanting him to take her over the edge, she began to rub her nipples and pinch them. The sensation was so intense she began to rub more, pinch harder.

“Tell me, Taylor. Let me hear you say it.”

Say what? What did he want? His voice was barely audible to her. She couldn’t hear, couldn’t think, just feel that huge cock driving into her, pushing her higher and higher, until she could only concentrate on the need deep in her cunt.

“Tell me to fuck you,” he ground out between clenched teeth.

Yes. Anything. Just do it. “Fuck me,” she yelled.

“Now, Taylor. Come now.”

He pushed hard one last time and as he began his release she felt herself coming around him. The orgasm took her with such force she didn’t think she’d survive. She throbbed and convulsed and impaled herself on him, demanding with her body that he not move away from her.

As the last shudder died away and he gently lowered her legs to the bed, she felt herself sink into a sleep deeper than anything she’d ever known.

What’s in a kiss

Kissing. Just the word alone can be exciting, anxiety-producing, and even amazing. On one hand, it’s so simple. On the other, it’s so complex. It can be a prelude to romance, the first taste of sexual foreplay or an expression of deep emotion. Kissing should be fun and feel good; otherwise, what’s the point of doing it? And it is certainly one way to show someone how much you care for them.

For some people kissing is the best way to express closeness. To show someone the intimacy of your feelings for them. Feel the romance blossoming between two people. The touch of lips, the tease of tongue, all are expressions of the sensations and emotions rushing through your body. Other qualities of a great kiss included eye contact beforehand, holding hands, and tenderness.

First kisses seem to be awkward for just about everybody. Being nervous and concerned about whether or not you’re “doing it right” can certainly lead to awkwardness. Some people worry that they might not be good at kissing, and of course there is such a thing as a bad kiss. But we’re not going to talk about them today. We’re only going to talk about the kisses that send the temperature zooming, the body quaking, the blood heating….Oh, wait. I think that’s a line from one of my books!

In Lust By Moonlight, Mark and Chloe each have erotic dreams about the other even before they meet, so that first kiss packs quite a punch.

Chloe leaned against one of the supports of the carport as she watched Mark turn the steaks, sipping at her wine and hoping it would take the edge off a sudden case of nerves. The familiar heat of the Texas day had waned and a soft breeze carrying the scent of mesquite and black persimmon played with the strands of her hair. It would have been a relaxed, casual atmosphere if not for the sexual tension between the two of them that was so strong it was almost visible. The elephant in the room they both seemed to be working hard to avoid.

Had he had a dream last night—or whatever it was—the way she had? Had the stage been set already, even though they’d just actually met that morning? Something had made him issue this invitation, the same thing that had urged her to accept. So here she was, drinking wine, watching him turn steaks, and suddenly her clothes were too tight for her, her skin was too tight for her, and she had an overwhelming need for him to forget the steaks and throw her to the ground. Take her right here.

Somehow they got through dinner making polite conversation, although Chloe couldn’t have said what the steak tasted like or what they talked about. Draining the last of the wine from her glass, she rose to carry her plate to the counter, but Mark’s hand gripped her arm.

“Leave it.” He stood also, took the plate from her hand and put it back on the table. “I think we both know what’s been on our minds since the minute you walked in the door. Maybe since…whenever.”

“I don’t…”

“Yes. You do.”

He pulled her against him, his muscular body like a wall of granite, but one with flames leaping from it. His hand cupped her neck, fingers threading through her hair and when his mouth took hers the kiss was so predatory the hunger inside her burst into life. He licked her lips, tasting every bit of the surface before forcing them open and sweeping his tongue inside.

Heat! It was everywhere. Inside her. Around her.

He touched everywhere inside her mouth, the inside of her cheeks, her teeth, the line of her gums, as if each place had a special taste. His other hand gripped her buttocks, pulling her firmly against him until she felt the thick ridge of his cock even through the denim of his jeans. When he clamped his lips around her tongue and sucked on it she moaned and tried to press herself even more tightly against him. Every nerve in her body felt as if it was sparking individually, igniting her skin tiny space by tiny space.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hi. A big Valentine’s hello from Desiree Holt. I write erotic romance in m nay subgenres-syspense, paranormal, humorous–yes, humorous. Sex can really be funny and fun. My very first erotic sale, Cupid’s Shaft, was written with humor. Dumped by her shallow lover for a leggy blonde, Jessie Rawlins was set for a lonely depressing Valentine’s Day in her vacation cabin in Maine. Then a snowstorm landed hot sexy hunk Riley Malone on her doorstep. Suddenly the night took on a whole new meaning as he led her on the sexual adventure of her life.

So what can be better than having the hunk of your dreams show up on your step in the middle of a snowstorm? But when he trips over the basket of sex toys she’d brought hoping for a hot weekend, all kinds of crazy things happen.
I like writing about Valentine’s Day. It’s a romantic holiday with a lot of possibilities. New love. First kiss. Hot sexy night. Fantasy fulfillment. Roses and champagne. Oh, and of course, whipped cream.
Take my h/h in Having It All. When country rock singer Mac Fontana got his big break, he and Daisy Giles celebrated with a long night of fulfilling sex, where they explored each other’s bodies and took their intimacy further than ever before. It seemed as if nothing could ever go wrong. Then Mac broke Daisy’s heart and it was ten years before they saw each other again. Now, in one long night of erotic sex, Mac must prove to Daisy that she can trust him again and that together, they can have it all. One of my favorite scenes in this story dealt with some very interesting things with chocolate syrup and whipped cream.
And I just love writing about two people who have an incredible connection learning how to deal with it, to trust each other and define the relationship so it’s satisfying to both of them.
That first connection can also be intense, depending on the circumstances. I write a lot of BDSM stories because I am blown away by the amount and level of trust a relationship like that demands. Depends on. Needs to succeed. In my latest for Ellora’s Cave, Delight Me, we have Dani, a sub who discovered she’s really a Domme, and Ethan, a high powered attorney who’s actually a sexual submissive. When they meet. although she’d theoretically in charge she’s nervous about her very first session as a Domme. And Ethan is the one who must reassure her.

“Your orders, please?”

A waitress in a very short, sheer dress with a neckline that exposed almost every bit of her breasts had appeared beside them.

“Ice water,” Dani told her. All of her Masters had drilled into her the necessity of abstaining from alcohol before play. Nothing could be allowed to cloud judgment and create problems.

The others ordered the same. Ethan leaned back and let his GAZE roam her body, almost daring her to object. Then, as if having accomplished his purpose, he lowered his gaze.

The ice water was delivered and Dani sipped hers slowly slowly took in every inch of the man sitting beside her. Her gaze focused on Ethan’s full, sensuous lips. Beautiful lips. She could just imagine them closing around her nipple, his hands restrained behind him. Unable to stimulate her with anything but the beautiful mouth. Or perhaps on his knees before her, those same full lips enclosing her clit, his tongue lapping the length of her wet flesh and thrusting inside her at her command.

Under the guise of easy conversation G asked Dani many questions, probing for her true knowledge of D/s rules. Ethan spoke only when he was addressed directly, as befitted a trained sub. Although his expression was arranged in what she assumed was meant to be an expression of subservience and humility, Dani felt his eyes again caressing every inch of her. There was enough iron strength beneath the submissive nature to make him very interesting. She shivered and moisture flooded her cunt. Oh, yes, Ethan Corelli would do very nicely.

“I want to ensure,” G said, “that Ethan is the perfect sub for this evening. He’s been trained by the best and carries no baggage with him. Nothing that would interfere with our activities.”

“That’s good to know,” Dani said. She certainly didn’t want to start out with someone carrying baggage from previous relationships.

“Permission to speak, Mistress?” Ethan asked.

She nodded. “Of course.”

“Mistress G told me you’ve been a submissive for some time now.” His deep voice stroked over her.

“Yes.” She cleared her throat, aware that G was carefully watching the interplay between them. “I’ve had a number of successful relationships.”

A smile played over his lips. “Would I be out of line if I asked what made you want to change roles?” She knew that was a bold question for a sub to ask but she chose to answer him. He of all people had the right to know.

“Not at all.” She took a sip of her drink. “For some time I’ve been convinced I wanted much more out of my relationships. Something that gave me deeper satisfaction. I wanted to be the one in control, managing the pleasure for both myself and my partners. When I began to resent the dominance of my last partner I knew it was time to explore this other side of myself.” She studied his face, saw the question barely concealed in his eyes. “I know all the rules, Ethan. I have a good reputation in the community. You can trust me. I want you to believe I will never betray that trust in any way.”

The hazel eyes darkened to a soft gray. “Then I will do my best to make the evening a fulfilling one for you.” He lifted his glass to her in the sign of a toast.

So on this Valentine’s Day I wish for all of your that first connection, or that reunion, which will put the spark in your life and bring your joy,m roses and champagne.

I’ll be back later to tell you about the meaning and history of romance and the importance of that first kiss.
