Comments

  1. There are some great series on here that I hope you enjoy.

I love Foundation, but I realize that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo books….all I can say is be patient. Each one was 100 pages of slogging and then they take off. 🙂

If I could recommend only one book, I say go for Dune. The series…maybe not so much. But the first one is great.

    Enjoy!

  2. The No1 Ladies Detective Agency was a lot of fun as a tv-series, I haven’t read the books yet. Hopefully you’ll enjoy them just as much. Or better!!

  3. Interview with a Vampire has been a favorite book of mine since I was about 13/14.
Kind of let down by the new adaptation. But now I know how people feel when their favorite book gets a bad adaptation.

  4. I really enjoyed the Millennium series by Larsson. I didn’t continue when another writer took over the series, but the original trilogy was great!

  5. What a great list! I definitely plan on reading the Game of Thrones series one day. And I read one book by Patrick Rothfuss a while back and really enjoyed it.

  6. 2,4, and 9 are good series. I hope you get try them out soon!

  7. The #1 Detective Agency is one I have been curious about for a while. I hope you do enjoy these when you get a chance to read them!

  8. A lot of great series on here! I reread Percy Jackson this year was impressed by how much it held up. I don’t read a lot of MG, but it was still so much fun.

  9. Ooh I want to read some of these too. I read Foundation as a kid but hardly remember it. Game of thrones is fun.

  10. You’ve got a lot of classic series on your list! I really loved The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo…I didn’t love the second book, but the third and final book is really good. Thanks for commenting on my blog earlier. 😀

  11. There are some really awesome series on your list! Percy Jackson, The Raven Cycle, and Game of Thrones are all great ones.

  12. Good luck for Asimov. I have read and fully enjoyed several of his books. But when I did a buddy read with another blogger, we were both quite disappointed and stopped after this one!

    • Thank you for the heads up!

I’ve had a wide range of experiences with classic science fiction. Some of it I love, and other tales not so much. I do like to keep trying, though. 🙂

  13. I’ve only read the first Game of Thrones book so far. That’s another one I need to get back to that I forgot to add to my list.

  14. So many great choices! I’ve read all the GoT books out so far… but considering how long we’ve all been waiting for the next book in the series, you probably have plenty of time to read and catch up. I do want to read Foundation as well. Loved Interview with the Vampire back in the day (I think I’ve read the first four books), and Dune is amazing too. Good luck!

    • Yeah, that’s one reason I haven’t started that series. I’m hoping the author will write the last book in it first. 🙂

I’m glad you were so thrilled with Interview with a Vampire and Dune.

  15. Well you’ve certainly got a terrific group of books there! I’ve read at least one of most of them and completed a couple. GOT takes some time; those books are not lightweight! Hope you enjoy each and every one.
Thanks for stopping by my blog

  16. The Lightning Thief and The Raven Boys are a couple of all time favorites. Enjoy!

  17. Great list of book series here. My kids loved the Percy Jackson books.

  18. I’ve read the Percy Jackson series, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and the Raven Cycle and loved all three! The Maze Runner series I stopped after book one (not that it was bad, I just lost interest) and the Kingkiller Chronicles are still on my TBR. Hope you’ll enjoy all of these!

  19. I’ve only read three on your list, but enjoyed them all 🙂 I hope you enjoy them!

  20. I did enjoy the Maze Runner and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series!

  21. Love Percy Jackson and Name of the Wind!

I hope you enjoy these whenever you have a chance to start them 🙂

  22. I’ve never read the Percy Jackson series, but my daughter raves about it. The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency has been on my list for a while.

Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.

  23. Oh, great list! Several of these are on my tbr, as well. The Raven Cycle is still one of my all-time faves. I’ve read the series a few times. I also loved The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Happy reading!

  24. I’ve read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo a long time ago – I don’t think I read any more in the series. I would like to read Interview With The Vampire and The Ladies Detective Agency.

    Have a great week!

  25. Such a great list. I’ve read and enjoyed almost all of these. 🙂

  26. I really enjoyed the first two Percy Jackson novels, but I really need to go back and finish the series before the show comes out. Best of luck picking these up!

  27. I have several of these on my TBR too! I’ve wanted to read the Percy Jackson series for a long time. I’ve also heard some good things about The Raven Cycle series, but reviews seem more mixed.

  28. I did read some books from Anne Rice and I didn’t like them honestly, mainly because there is very little variation of her characters. They all have the same background of a wealthy conflicted Catholic nobleman, (or else an orphan, but still conflicted about morality) and I feel that a lot of it is navel gazing. I was sad to realize that there aren’t diverse backgrounds about Anne Rice’s male characters. Maybe in later books yes, but in ones I read and heard about, no.

  29. Hope you enjoy all of these! The Raven Boys and Maze Runner have been famous on lists for a while now, and though at one time I did have The Maze Runner, I think I donated it. Once I see the movie, it’s next to impossible that I ever read the book. 😉 Thanks so much for visiting my website on this week! Appreciate this.

    • You’re welcome. Thanks for stopping by! It’s interesting that you can either read the book or watch the film but not do both. 🙂
