S T A I R C A S E
I saw red while you held my hand
on that hill in a castle of sand
being nice, coming out of the blue
you were losing me, undeniably true
I was just another trophy for your shelf
overloaded by the further rusty twelve
Dissociating from this charming place
you are a mess inside, I know it’s the case
this romance had better leave no trace
but at sunset we sat here on the staircase
THE HIGHER THE STAIRCASE, THE CLEARER THE VIEW.

Thank you for featuring WORDS TO THINK. OR TO SING.
Sounds like a great read.
Thank you so much for this, Rita!
If you’re into approachable, modern, poetry-like writing, artistic journeys, and emotional pop music unfolding over time, this could truly be something for you. I already wish you a good read in case you decide to give it a go. For now it is words and reflections on their meanings, but soon there will be sound, one song at a time. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on both, and maybe even singing some of your favorite lines together one day 🙂
Great cover art. Looks like a good book.
Thanks so much, Marcy. I would love to hear your thoughts on the inside too, whenever you get a chance 🙂 For the cover, I aimed for a modern, minimalistic look that highlights variety while also ensuring that the subject of the book is clear at first glance. United in music and united in intensity.
This looks like a very good book and I look forward to reading it.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Sherry. Wishing you a great read! I would be thrilled to hear which lines resonate with you most 🙂 And maybe one day we can sing some of your favorite ones together at the top of our lungs, it would be wonderful to have you along for this music evolving adventure 🙂
Dear Long and Short Reviews,
Thank you so much for introducing me to your community. It is a pleasure to be here with you. I’m thrilled about your excerpt choice, STAIRCASE.
The verses of this poetic song in progress describe one of those strangely beautiful situations where the setting is stunning, but everything else feels wrong. The warning signs have long been blurred by that one small thing we might still be holding on to. Sometimes it is so painful to let go. But we cannot stay in that moment forever. Like the sunset at the staircase.
I hope you will enjoy the full publication. If you are curious to discover more before diving in, Readers’ Favorite recently gave it 5 stars and called it “one of the most unique forms of artistic expression seen in a book.” You can read the full review here: https://readersfavorite.com/book-review/words-to-think-or-to-sing
I would love to hear your thoughts about it, and I look forward to singing your favorite lines together one day. 🙂
United in intensity,
Intensia
Yes, I’ve often wondered what inspired certain songs!
So glad to hear that, Lydia! I’ve often felt that not sharing insights during the creative journey misses a great chance to spark imagination, invite self-reflection, and build deeper connections. That’s why I created this book first, instead of simply releasing the music and offering behind-the-scenes glimpses afterward, as is usually done.
To me, every piece of art is a multifaceted experience. Sometimes my inner voice gives me words first, sometimes melodic fragments or just a message idea, but always true emotions to start. And while crafting, my mind instantly travels through music video ideas, audio concepts, visuals, colors, scenes, fonts, even imagined scents or anything that might enhance the experience and make it more memorable and entertaining.
For now, the book offers selected fragments from lyrics, each paired with a short reflection about its meaning. But every excerpt carries a secret melody, which I’m passionately fine-tuning one song at a time along with production and release details.
Wishing you a wonderful read if you give it a go. I’d love to hear your thoughts, and maybe, one day, we can even sing some of your favorite lines together 🙂 I would be thrilled to have you along for this special sonorous artistic journey.
