Olivia Durham has had a rough life since she was a young girl with stars in her eyes. One mistake and her world crumbles around her and leaves her with nothing. Now she’s created a different life for herself in order to gain back the control she lost one dark night. But one thing she had no control over was her response to meeting another lost soul.
When I started this, I was going down a path that was very hedonistic. But when the door closed behind Olivia, locking her in the room with Gideon the book took a very different turn. It was sad mostly, but then turned into something beautiful and loving. I think Karyn Gerrard did a wonderful job with this very short story. I would highly suggest reading anything written by her after having completed this tale of the unexpected.
