Her love life is running on empty. And he’s just the man to make her engine purr.

Full Throttle, Book 1

Sarah Katz’s career as a New York lawyer is in high gear—and the stress has left her hormones sputtering. With strict doctor’s orders to relax, she books the cure: a spa vacation in the cool, green mountains of Virginia.

When a pothole sends her Porsche to the side of the road, she finds herself stuck in small-town Rapture. She’d love nothing more than to blow this Hicksville and be on her way…until she meets sexy stockcar mechanic Cole Cassidy.

Coles knows exactly how to handle that fancy car, and its uptight driver. Sarah’s not his type, but neither can deny that their attraction is firing on all cylinders. Soon he’s introducing her to the thrill of speed at the local track—in his car, and on it.

But Sarah’s troubles aren’t so easily left in the dust. Unless she forces herself to decide if she’s willing and able to let someone else take the wheel.

Sometimes things get broken, or worn out, or just not doing what they’re supposed to do, and when that happens there’s only one man for the job – Cole Cassidy!

Sarah is running on empty. She’s a whizz hot lawyer in the big city and pretty damn exhausted by it all because of the extra demands put on her by a hopeless colleague. So exhausted that she’s gone months without being able to enjoy the best release from stress of them all – an orgasm.

So she heads out, on doctor’s orders, to find herself some rest and relaxation at a spa in the Virginia mountains. Trouble is her Porsche doesn’t cope well with the drive (or perhaps the car did it on purpose) and she finds herself in a fix in Rapture and in need of a mechanic.

Enter hunky Cole Cassidy, he’s an expert with an engine, a man who knows exactly what to do with his hands and to top it all he’s drop dead gorgeous. Before either of them knows what’s happening they’re getting sweaty and naked on the front of his car… and then it all goes wrong.

Joy Daniels writes a great story of a man and a woman who are meant to be together and can’t help but not be despite the delicate issues that need to be addressed. I liked how she tackled Sarah’s emotions and her frustration at not being able to… well, not be able to find release from her frustration. More could have been made of it, but then it would have perhaps dragged the plot on a little too much, so as it was, it was just right. And thank goodness for Cole knowing what to do in the shower – Ahem…

Revving Her Up certainly kept my interest and I was invested in the characters. If I had one complaint it was the switching of the the point of view when I wasn’t expecting it. Not to say I didn’t like knowing what was going on in Cole and Sarah’s heads, I did, it just would have been helpful to have an asterix break so I wasn’t jarred.

The sexy sex scenes were hot and well written. The plot tied up nicely and the dialogue between the hero and heroine snappy when it needed to be, kind and gentle when that was required. I’d definitely read more of Ms Daniel’s work and if you like contemporary romance with heat and heart and don’t mind going up a few gears when things get raunchy pick Revving Her Up today.
