Something might have happened on its own, but a mischievous pub owner slips each of them a Wit & Wizardry brew known to contain a powerful love potion. Before either can say a word, Aisling and Daniel find themselves tumbling headlong into love.

Unfortunately, all is not happily ever after. Aisling does not want to love a human, and Daniel believes he’s unfairly pressured her into being with him. When the pair settle down to breathe, can they discover something deeper to bind them, or will daylight make the heady effects of a potioned brew fade away?

Aisling is a fairy and while she’s not pleased to be working a shift at the bar, she’s trying to make the best of it. Instead of being surrounded by drunk and off-limit humans, what she really wants is to find her mate, a man who is her true love and whom she can start a family with. So when Daniel O’Hare manages to charm her with his wild Irish looks and sexy voice, Aisling is shocked, because she never, ever thought she’d even like a human – let alone be falling in love with one.

This is a fun and sexy short story. I really enjoyed how the magic and mechanism behind the love potion brew was explained so as the reader I could understand where this major plot point was coming from. Instead of just a vague “drinking a love potion” suggestion I appreciated Aisling actually asking a few hard questions and having this explained to her – and thus us readers too.

While I could understand if some readers don’t fully enjoy the “insta-love” style of relationship that starts between Aisling and Daniel because of the potion, I personally felt there was still a good bit of chemistry between the two. Aisling is pretty determined not to like – and certainly not to love or become involved with – a human, so that added quite a bit of conflict to Aisling’s character. On the one hand the potion was allowing them both to see each other in a new light and without doubts or hesitation, but it also released some very normal and natural inhibitions too. So I could appreciate and understand the thin line the author treaded here. I’m not sure this will be the style of plot of book that all readers will enjoy, but I personally found it sexy and interesting and just different enough to keep me hooked and turning the pages.

Throw reality and caution to the wind, sit back with a decent drink and just enjoy this fun and sexy short story. With all manner of magical creatures, love potions and some steamy hot sex it’s a great way to spend an evening and a story I enjoyed.
