“Warning: Contains a hot military man who will steal your panties as well as your heart.”

This was such a great book. It’s an incredibly sweet, emotional romance that I couldn’t put down.

This book had a lot of conflict in the plot. The heroine Rachel was in love with two brothers, James and Kyle. But it was James who made the first move so Rachel became engaged to the wrong brother while Kyle stepped aside and let his brother claim the woman he loved. Then an argument led to one passionate moment and a huge secret between Rachel and Kyle. Now five years later Kyle is back home from the military and Rachel is a widow. The nearly tangible attraction is there but the weight of guilt still lies between them. The beauty of this plot is that although mistakes were made and hearts were broken there wasn’t any clear betrayal from anyone. That’s why it worked out so well.

His Reason To Stay is the first book that I’ve read in this series but it definitely won’t be the last. It’s a sweet story that was fast paced but beautifully written. Kyle and Rachel were wonderful characters who had always loved each other but made some wrong choices. They were both vulnerable and I was easily pulled into the tension of how Kyle would react when the Rachel’s secret was revealed. I might just add that Rachel’s little girl, Ava, actually stole the show in this book. Her character was absolutely adorable and really livened up the story.

This book can be read as a stand alone for anyone, like myself, who hasn’t read the series. There’s really not much else for me to say except that I really loved it and intend to read the rest of the series as soon as possible.
