When a biker chick cuts him off in traffic then parks in his spot at the courthouse, lawyer Charlie Vernon is hot under the collar—and it has more to do with her perfectly shaped backside, clad in black leather, than the sultry California heat. When he meets her later at a diner, pretty in pink, Charlie discovers she’s a woman with a secret—and he’ll do anything to keep her safe.

Hiding her true identity, Roxanne Abernathy doesn’t do men in expensive silk suits who are richer than sin. Charlie Vernon is cool, good-looking and wealthy—a bad, bad combination in her mind. But Roxie has a problem. A madman intent on killing her is on the loose and Charlie is the only man who can help. And she doesn’t know what she wants more from him—justice or lust.

Nothing drives Charlie crazier than a biker. Let alone a biker chick. And now he’s a little on the peeved side after one acts a little reckless. Oh, I’d say the sparks are on!

Sometimes you meet a person with a predetermined idea not to like them. I’d say that’s what happens with Charlie when it comes to Roxanne. But then he meets her again, and things are looking a little different. Charlie is an interesting character. He keeps people at a distance. He seems to have overcome a lot in his past and he’s not one to just open up. He’s a good guy, but I didn’t quite feel the emotions from him. I couldn’t fully connect. I do love his fierce desire to protect Roxanne when she is obviously hiding something.

I struggled to understand Roxanne’s true motives. She’s a feisty woman, but also a woman with a hidden past. I loved getting the insight piece by piece about who she was. But again, I didn’t fully feel the connection.

The story line itself is pretty good. There’s some chemistry there between the characters, even though it seems like it’s rushed. One minute they can’t stand the other and the next they’re all over each other? I get sudden desire, but this one didn’t work for me. Not this way.

The suspense element is pretty good. The ending had me at the edge of my seat a time or two, but the climatic part didn’t seem to last long. I thought there would be more to it when it came time to face Roxanne’s past.

This story is on the erotic side, but there’s no huge elements that are overdone. The couple does like to talk a lot about a sixty nine, but other than that, the love scenes were definitely hot and appropriately placed. There is a good mix of plot to go alone with the hot sex in the story.

So all in all, while I had a mixed reaction to parts of the book, it kept my interest and had me wanting to know what was going to happen. If you’re looking for some scorching sex and a shot of suspense, why not give Full Throttle Yearning a try?
