Cupid Comes to the Lonesome Buzzard Ranch was a pleasant surprise and an interesting read. I gave this story a chance because I’ve read other Hebby Roman books and loved them. This story continued the trend – I’m adding this one to my keeper shelf too. After reading the synopsis I was worried it would be too busy for me to follow. I can confidently assure readers that if I can follow and connect with four leading men and their prospective others during a chaotic Valentine’s Day weekend, it’s safe to say anyone can.

Not only do I consider this a contemporary romance book, I consider it a fun comedy. I genuinely laughed out loud quite a few times while reading the story. The plot was creative and written well. There were some predictable parts but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment. The attention to detail sparked my curiosity enough to consider visiting a B&B for a weekend. I’ve never been to a B&B before and while I know it couldn’t possibly be as wonderful as the Lonesome Buzzard Ranch, I’d still like to try staying at one.

Cupid Comes to the Lonesome Buzzard Ranch was basically four romances going on at the same time, like a soap opera, all in one book. I honestly can’t say which leading character I preferred since I loved them all. They all received their happily ever after and I couldn’t think of a better way to pass a few hours. I’m so thankful I was the one that got to review this book.

I loved this book, just as I have loved all my Hebby Roman books I’ve read to date! Such a great author!

    My review:

Les Springer is a ranch owner and he has a Bed & Breakfast at the ranch that was his departed wife, Daisy, idea. Less is considering closing the B&B because business is slow and he isn’t the socialite that his wife was not to mention he doesn’t want the extra worry. His friend, Connor tells him that he’s not surprised his business is waning because his website for The Lone Buzzard Ranch and Bed & Breakfast is terrible. Connor also tells Les that changing the name from The Lonesome Dove to the Lonesome Buzzard wasn’t his best idea to attract business.

One day Les and his Harley club are meeting up for a ride. When the group of bikers stops for a break, a drink, and a meal, Connor starts talking about a dating website he’s a member of. Then Connor’s great idea for last weekend of the B & B unfolds. Connor will have a group of ladies come to the B&B for himself, Les, Jayce, and Jackson. Who knows there might even be a love connection or two, hopefully, it won’t end up a disaster. That’s where the whole adventure begins. They offer a weekend of skiing, horseback riding, great food and playing Bridge. The day arrives and low and behold, Connor, the man that started this whole thing is not coming. This just might be a disaster from the get-go.

This is a very light-hearted, funny and delight of a book. How could four cowboys and ladies randomly chosen off a dating website not offer for a fun, adventurous read? This book had me laughing out loud at times as well as shaking my head a time or two. Great read!

I need to read one of my Hebby Roman books soon! I have so many books and not enough time!

  4. Completed Reviews,
Thank you so much for the lovely review! I’m so happy that you enjoyed the book and it gave you some laughs, too! That’s the exact reason that I wrote the book because I felt there wasn’t enough “funny” romances anymore. Some are snarky and kind of cute, but I wanted to experiment and try to write a true “Much Ado About Nothing” kind of book. Sequels with continuing characters and the B&B will be forthcoming!
