Left for dead on the eve of her wedding, Astrid’s dreams have been shattered. She hides away, sheltered from the dangers of the world until a handsome man arrives and a sexual awakening occurs.

Killian finds himself lost deep in the woods. He comes across a well and senses raw sexual energy in the air. There he finds a beautiful woman and is drawn to her. Something inside him longs to be the protector she craves.

Dark secrets surround the Makian Well. Three witches cry out to be reborn and their only hope is Astrid. As the power of the witches grows and her desire for Killian reaches a boiling point, Astrid must find her hidden reserves to fight, and hold onto the dream that love can be hers.

Astrid has been burned by the outside world. The only place she feels safe is in the forest. But when a stranger enters, her interest flares. Torn between staying where she feels safe and protected and following her heart, Astrid is forced to make some pretty tough decisions. Will she stay in seclusion or will she take a chance on love again?

Astrid is the type of character that really works her way into your heart, pulling and tugging at your emotions. She is the kind of heroine that you root for from the very beginning. Killian, the hero is another one that you just find yourself drawn to. When you get pulled into a story like this, with characters that are not your typical protagonists, it opens your eyes to a different style of romance.

The story was bursting with scenes that made me feel all different emotions. Filled with twists and turns, love and friendship, hills and valleys, it is one I strongly recommend. Ms Cory, you have done a great job and I hope to read more from you in the future.
