Maddy is the oldest witchling to ever attend the Hidden Cove Academy, having been cursed as a teen; she’s forced to have a solitary life outside her own magical community. With her magic so dangerously unpredictable, she rarely takes the chance on mixing with the general public.
From one harmless trip to a museum she finds herself spellbound yet again by an invisible boundary, caused by a three hundred year old curse, dictating that Maddy must stay close to the stunningly sexy Colin.
Being stuck with a tall, dark, incredibly lick-able stranger can’t be all that bad, right? Until they discover if they get too close the spirits bound with the curse will take over their bodies … at the same time if they’re too far from one another the curse will kill them both.
Will the curse’s secrets be unraveled in time or does certain death await them both?

When people say they’re cursed, it’s usually just for dramatic effect. Not for Maddy, though. For her it’s the real deal. This curse keeps her from getting close to anyone…and she confines herself to a solitary life. Though one day she sets outside that zone, and lands smack-dab in the middle of trouble.

That trouble is named Colin, and for some reason, they can’t be apart from each other. And no, I don’t mean because they are so physically attracted to one another that they just can’t keep their hands off each other. Of course, that does happen later, but that’s not the initial start of this story line. No, that’s the wonderful little curse mentioned earlier. Here’s the catch 22: they can’t be too far apart from one another, but Maddy and Colin can’t be too close, either. Oh yeah! No kidding. Bet they’re wishing the folks who created this curse would make up their minds!

I didn’t get much of a glimpse of Colin’s past. His character could have been a little more dynamic, and I would have loved to know more about his history. Regardless, he is sweet and the image of him that comes to mind is great too. Maddie was fun to read about, and the premise was unique.

The plot had me intrigued and kept me turning pages, but it just didn’t fully reach its potential. I pictured more action than there was, and I’m not talking physical action between Maddy and Colin. There was just the right amount of that, and it was interesting to see how the dreaded curse would come into play in the physical scenes.

Filled with plenty of wit and charm, the book kept me reading and I did enjoy it. It seems stories with witches are really starting to come out into the lime light in the paranormal genre, and it’s always fun reading fresh new takes on it.

If you enjoy light paranormal romance, with a dash of comedy and characters who are enjoyable, then pick yourself up a copy of Twice Cursed.
