Thursday Spotlight: Elle Laudan

Riding for Charity

One dollar from the sale of each print copy of She Rides sold will go to WWR (Women Who Ride) Conga Line/Ride for Breast Cancer Research. This group of Women Who Ride are incredible ladies, in particular, a lady named Flo. It is her vision, and the countless hours she puts in, have made this fundraiser a huge success. You can read her story about how this yearly event came to be HERE.

So, what better way to support this worthy cause than with this book, She Rides, filled with real people, keeping it real…just like those riders who make up WWR.

An excerpt from She Rides

“Well, I hate to do this, but I really need to haul ass. You all wouldn’t know of a room around here for rent?”

Stretch shook his head. “You don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of findin’ a room here, or anywhere close to here this week.” He raised a brow at his wife, and she responded with a nod. “It’s a good thing you got friends in town.”

Confused, Missy furrowed her brow. “I don’t know anyone here aside from the four of you.”

“I, for one, like to think of you as a friend.” Stretch leaned back in his chair and clasped his hands behind his head.

“Of course, oh, I’m so sorry. That’s not what I meant.”

“Don’t be silly. We have a cabin just outside of town. If you don’t mind a pull-out couch, you’ve got a place to stay.” Kim reached across the table and squeezed her hand.

“Would I mind? Hell, you just saved me from sleeping outside next to my bike.”

“We usually take our bikes back and lock them up for the night. Kim here will bring us back in the van so we can cut loose and not be tempted to ride home drunk.”

“I think that’s a great idea. Are you sure you don’t mind?”

Kim waved off the comment. “Not at all, hun. I don’t drink, and this way I can keep an eye out so my hubby doesn’t get into any trouble.”

Bandit’s eyes grew big, and he fluttered his long eyelashes. “Who, me?”

Missy laughed, ever so grateful to have made friends with such genuine people.
No games, no facades…only fun and laughter. Lady Luck sure shined on me today.

$1 from each print copy sold will be donated to Breast Cancer Research. http://gowitheflo.org
