Author Shana Galen ends the exciting Sons of the Revolution series with a swashbuckling high seas adventure. Bastian has lived with guilt over the death of his family for many years and now the man who took him under his wing has been murdered. He’ll stop for nothing, not even a beautiful spitfire maiden, to track down the man responsible. It’s all he has left. Or so he thinks.

Raeven is bent on revenge for the death of her fiancé. She signs on as “cabin boy” with notorious Capt. Cutlass. Can this bloodthirsty damsel, who oddly enough is sickened at the sight of blood, put away her sword in time to see the hero standing before her?

This book was a lot of fun to read but it also has plenty to cause your heart to stutter. Between the sword fights, terrific battle scenes, steamy stuff, and sweet conclusion, readers will walk away knowing they lived an adventure.

Bastien is a classic Alpha hero. He takes charge, takes what he wants and yet has a vulnerable side. If you’ve read the other two books in this series you know going in Bastien is under the misconception his family is all gone. They are such an integral part of the other two books, so it was surprising they don’t show up until late in this story. But what a reunion! It was worth the wait.

The dialogue is witty and the pace is quick in this final novel. Ms. Galen builds this period piece so readers will feel a part of the action.

If you love high seas literary escapes, consider the Sons of the Revolution series. You’ll garner the most enjoyment by reading books in order but it isn’t totally necessary. Ms. Galen provides sufficient back story. Pick up a copy of The Rogue Pirate’s Bride today and don’t forget to pack your sword and your sea legs. You’ll need both!
