Ms. Gold writes a fun yet thought-provoking short story. Opposites are thought to attract, but then again, there are instances when being the polar difference of someone else can be downright destructive.

This story comes down to acceptance. Mason comes to a party dressed as himself – a carpenter. He’s an alpha male who likes the tough/gruff type. Although he’s not ashamed of his sexuality, he’s not sure of someone who wears it on their sleeve – such as Avery. Still, you have to give Mason credit for stepping out of himself and giving himself the chance to try. Many people can’t find it in their hearts to try. Ms. Gold writes the struggle as if you are going through it in Mason’s place.
