SPRING IS BUSTIN’ OUT ALL OVER: RAINE DELIGHT

Confessions of a Book Addict in Springtime
Raine Delight
I have a love-hate feeling with spring. On one hand, I love seeing the trees start to bud, the flowers peaking out and planning my flower garden. What I don’t like is the way my allergies seem to explode from March-October. I think I have a permanent supply of Kleenex those months. I don’t know about you but as much as I love this season, my poor sinuses hate it. *sniffles*
As the seasons change here, there seems to be a burst of wonderful books coming out along with the daffodils and cherry blossoms. I am not sure how this happens, but I do know once spring gets here, my reading list explodes and my poor honey moans he is going to need to build a new room for all my books that I get. I can’t help it. My inner book addict loves books, be it an e-book or print copy. Doesn’t matter to her as long as she gets her fix! She is like a junkie…when she sees a really good excerpt/book blurb; she just has to have it. I swear there has to be a 12-step program for book addicts. You know, where we all introduce ourselves and say “Yes I am a book addict” to a round of applause and encouragement. I think we could even get a reality TV show…what do you think? Would that work? I think so. I am sure the possibilities are endless as are the choices of some new (or oldies but goodies) favorites to enjoy. So this spring, my goal is to reign in my wild child inner book addict so my poor honey doesn’t complain too much on all my books. Really…going…to…try but its sooooo hard………must….have…this book.

Raine Delight is a pseudonym of a self professed book lover and after one too many TSTL characters, decided to see if she could write something a little better. Well many drafts later, Devon Falls series came to together. Check out my book pages to see what is going on with me. My muse is a male nut who likes to leave me to go sip mai tais on the beach and leave me foundering for words; though eventually he takes pity on me and gets my words flowing and characters start settling down.

Personal notes: I live with my own boytoy and two kids. I love Johnny Depp movies and enjoy hiking, reading and watching movies with my family.

  3. I know the feeling. I need a new e-reader now to hold more books. I love my print books and there are so many e-books I want to read, it seems like the supply is endless. 🙂

    Thanks for coming by guys.

  4. Raine,

Hi my name is Teresa and I’m a book addict.LOL My son says; “if I bring another book home, he’s going to shoot me”. Well guess what that doesn’t stop me from having them on my Kindle, and I just wait for him not to be home and I bring the new books in.

    Great post Raine.

  7. I am also a book addict. I try to go through them but there are just too many. But I just love to read and wouldn’t give it up for anything.

  8. I feel your allergy pain. I haven’t taken a free breath in weeks. Course, I also feel your book addiction! I have many books (print and e) all over the place, but very little time to read anymore.

Does this mean I have to renounce my status as a book addict? Change it Book Hoarder? Hmmm…

  9. Fellow bookaholic here! 🙂

  10. My husband and son has the allergy problem!! My son is worse when the pollen is flying around. That is happening now, my car sometimes look like it is yellow instead of white.

I am also a book addict. I have started getting a few e-books since I got a Kindle for Christmas, but I also love the smell and feel of a good book:)

  11. When you turn the first page of a good book, you are transported into another world.I consider writing an art form. It’s painting pictures with words. When I can read a wonderful love story,I rise above the problems and stress of my life to a place of romance and enjoyment.I became addicted to reading at seven years old.My first book was “Green Mansions” I bought my grandaughter that first book.I will read it to her on her next birthday. Might as well pass a good thing down to her!

  12. Great post, Raine. You’ve got yourself another book addict here too, lol.

  15. I too am a book addict. Many years ago when my kids were in grade school my H and I went to some therapy. The therapist told my H that I had an addiction. To books. The problems that we were having had nothing to do with us, but rather too much outside family interference. I was so angry, but we found another person to help us with the issues at the time. I still laugh over it after all these years as the therapist ended up being sued by her clients for thieft and abuse of power.
My H gave me a Kindle I the fall of 2009. It is the best gift I’ve ever gotten. So I join you ALL in the addiction…we be just fine…*S*

  16. Ugh. You said a terrible word: allergies!
