I love a story that grabs me and makes me feel what the characters are thinking/feeling immediately. This book is one of those rare gems. I’ve never read a Mysti Holiday story, but I guarantee, this won’t be the last. There is a sense of not only their longing for each other, but the raw desire felt when they’re thrown into a situation together. Ms. Holiday writes tenderness and snark with equal prowess.
Kasey’s an intriguing heroine. She’s independent, spunky, and still has an inner ‘fraidy cat. She wants Cole with her whole being, but when he’s offering himself, she’s not sure. I could identify with her struggle. Cole had me from hello. He’s handsome, open, and honest. What more could I want out of a guy? For him to be real, but that’s another story. When he ripped his heart open for her, it got to me. Many men don’t just come out and say what they need. And the simple fact that he still had gentlemanly qualities really stuck with me as well.
When Kasey and Cole get together, it’s really super hot. I mean, scorched the screen, melted the casings, hot. They know each other on an elemental level before they get physical and it really works well. They have a freedom to explore with each other that flows with passion I couldn’t help but get wrapped up in.
