Sex, Science & “Mugasmic” Inspiration

Maria-Claire here! While we all know Jimmy Thomas never fails to get the creative…hmmm…”juices” flowing, I’d like your opinion. Below: JT as Dr. Travis Bredelowe. On your right: JT as Logan, Earl of Davenport. If you had to choose just one (and you don’t! Read both stories :). which is YOUR preference?

My science background and interests generally provide inspiration for the back-story to my romances since I find science — and scientists — hot 🙂 Hey, give a nerd a ride! Mmmmhmmm…!
String theory plays a role in Unstrung while the Mobius phenomenon makes an appearance in Bending Tyme. Nope, you don’t have to understand anything about either to enjoy the stories 🙂 That’s my job: to weave those elements into each story so you forget about the science and just focus on how those elements make for some amazing sex 🙂 I’m still uploading more information about the sexy science motivating my characters; check by my website often for updates and to let me know what you think.
Are you as attached to your iPod or other choice of player as I am? I develop a play-list for every story I write. From my Unstrung play-list, The Smithereens’ “A Girl Like You” sums up, for me, the brilliant Travis’ absolute passion for his wife. Yeah, it’s true: even the world’s top research scientist has insecurities and Cara accepts his — not to mention their shared enjoyment of all things bondage-related 😉
Writing Bending Tyme resulted in one of my all-time favorite play-lists. In one pivotal love scene, I hear Darius Rucker singing “History in the Making” (excerpts forthcoming once my editor gives me the green light, so stop by my website in another week or two :).
I always imagine a theme song too. For Unstrung, Michelle Branch’s “All You Wanted” sums up the closing scene from Cara’s perspective. For Bending Tyme, Foreigner’s “Until the End of Time” makes a perfect fit with what I envision Logan feels.
Check out the tunes and stop by my site or my blog and let me know what you think 🙂

  1. I am only attached to my ipod when I am out and about running errands and commuting. When I’m home all my music comes from my computer. Music does play an important role in the stories I read. I always try to connect songs with the scenes I read. Every time I hear the song even if the story has long been read it brings it all back. It’s a moment when I can connect back to a story and re-live the moment.

  2. Hi, Na!

Thanks for stopping by! I’d love to know what music you connect to my stories 🙂

In my experience, people seem to identify scents and music with their romantic interests. To this day, REO Speedwagon and Drakkar Noir put me back in Jake’s fully-loaded black Mustang GT 😉

    Have fun here today!

  3. Wow what a hard choice. JT on the left or right. If I had to pick, I would say the left. He’s seems more obtainable for the average woman. Very fun loving and sexy. While JT right is wowzers…he doesn’t seem like someone I’d be able to go up to and talk to.

  4. How can one choose between pics of JT. He is one good looking man.

I love my music and am always playing something but I think that I love smell and touch just as much. Very hands on type of person.

  5. I like both but prefer him as the Earl! I love my ipod! I use it at the gym, and in the evening let iTunes play on my computer.
