The story moves along very quickly, a bit too quickly for me as it felt a little rushed in places. Despite this, the main characters are well-realized and the relationship between them is mostly convincing. A word of warning, there is some very violent sex in this story. I didn’t find it offensive personally as it was fully consensual and mainly connected to the fact that neither Saida nor Kaj are human – both are far stronger and heal faster than ordinary humans – but some readers might find it objectionable.
If you enjoy your BDSM with a sci-fi theme, and like your heroes to be strong and your heroines stronger still, then Seduction of the Captain is well worth reading.
