Okay, that’s actually not a fair question. We all have issues. It’s what we do about those issues that’s the thing, and it’s the thing Serena Yates writes about in Saving the Bodyguard. I give the author a lot of credit. A hero with anger issues could turn off a lot of people. He initially turned me off. I mean, the guy was downright mean. But, Ms. Yates has penned him with such fluidity and realism, page by page I fell for him. I liked that the characters were both flawed, perhaps to varying degrees, but flawed nonetheless. Felix is just trying to survive. He’s been through hell and getting past it. I liked the fragile strength he showed. I rooted for him immediately. There’s oodles of back story here, but it’s written in such a fashion that the reader doesn’t feel pounded over the head with it.

Ms. Yates drew me in with the sweet and sexiness of her characters and her verbiage. I didn’t think these two men were even suitable to be in the same room together and yet, Ms. Yates made it work and work well.

And don’t let me forget to mention the love scenes! Be prepared and grab a cool drink, a stiff breeze and a fan for your reader or computer. You’ll need it.
