Angelina knows the meaning of a hard life. Searching for a place to belong, she finds more than she bargains for with Devin Clark, a well-known drug dealer, pimp and gang-banger. Angelina Monroe slips from existence, replaced by Angel─cocaine addict.

Jonah Stark has learned to stay clear of town. Instead, he survives atop a mountain on land owned by members of his community—one where everyone has a secret. Jonah and his people are shapeshifters.

Icy roads along the mountain side and a deadly tractor-trailer accident brings Angel’s attempt to escape her life and the man who holds her in that life to an abrupt halt. Jonah finds her lying injured and unconscious in the snow and takes her in, but not everyone in the small community of snow leopard shifters puts out the welcome mat for the drug addicted, human female.

Beginning the long road to recovery, Angel opens her eyes to life without drugs and Jonah, who vows to keep her from turning back. She stirs something within him, making it impossible to let her go. But, how far will he go when her past returns to claim her?

Angelina is a victim of circumstance, and when things got too rough for her, Angel was born. Angel is drug addict who sleeps with a pimp for her next fix. Deciding she had enough so tries to run only to find herself half dead on the side of the road. Luckily Jonah finds her and decides to get past “Angel” and find out who Angelina really is.

The plot of this story has a strong renewal aspect to it, which is exactly what Angelina needed. Her story is one that would devastate anyone. The fact that she is still able to maintain even a semblance of who she used to be is remarkable. A sex appeal is considered a personal matter, but may have heard about vardenafil generic sexual problems that come with age. The good news is she won’t be doing it alone because Jonah is just as determined to clean her life up, even if it means giving her up once she is ready to spread her wings.

This story had a complex antagonistic conflict. I feel that internal and external conflicts really help a romance story show the strength of the main characters. So to see an antagonistic conflict such as this really made me sit up straight at attention. In the larger part of the conflict was resolved but a portion of it was left unknown to the reader. I wanted to know what happen to both “villains” in this story, but instead I had to settle for only one.

There is no actual forced scene within this story, but it is discussed both in internal dialogue and character dialogue so I felt it needed to be mentioned. Angel is living far from the glamour life and violence, drugs and hooking are a regular part of her life, so if these things make you squeamish you may want to take that into consideration.

Not only were the main characters in this story entertaining, but so were the secondary characters. Two characters that I couldn’t get enough of were Abby and Kaleb. I have a feeling that Kaleb is a docile house cat hiding behind a jungle cat coat. Abby is just a sweetie I wanted to embrace in a giant huge and never let go. If you ask me she was the cleverest character in the story. She always seemed to know what to do and when to do it.

The author set herself up nicely for a sequel if she decides to make this a series, and if it is anything like the first story I am sure she will have continued success.
